Great Tutorial !! Point to note: the chevrons must extend beyond the donut on both sides, otherwise it will not create fragments correctly. The extensions on both sides must also be deleted.
This is so great! Saved me tons of time building it in PowerPoint rather than Illustrator. Added some effects and it was ready to go. Built my graphic with content in 5 minutes. Fantastic!
Oh my gosh...i have been looking everywhere for templates to create this and never realized they were so easy to make!! Thank you for the great instruction and introduction to features in PowerPoint that I never knew existed. Well done!!
Oh my gosh you just made my day!!! I am so super impressed with your explanation and how professional my Powerpoint is going to look for my class! I cannot thank you enough for your amazing tutorial!
This is a really elegant and nicely done design. Well done! This is a favorite design pattern but its been tricky in the past to get it right for 4 to 7 shapes. This technique works really well for any number of slices.
thank you for letting us download the template! i used the donut shape and then lines but it didnt allow me to merge the shapes for some reason.. i just wanted to divide the circle into sections, i didnt want arrow to show a flow..
This is a great tutorial, thank you so much! There was a reference to a technique of positioning the chevrons "really accurately" but was not explained for the sake of time. Is there another video where that technique is explained/demonstrated?
If you use the 'rotate' function, you can set each to exactly the right angle. I set an opposite pair on either end of a line, grouped the 3 objects, then rotated them as a group. I used 6 chevrons, so angles at 0, 60 and 120 degrees. Hope this helps.
When I fragment the dounut there is a piece which doesn't fragment into single but double. I tried to do the subtract but the option was disabled. What shoudl i do please
Many thanks. After using Power Point for 29 years, I learned something new today.

Great video! Working to develop a figure 8. I'm assuming I could just copy the initial diagram and paste it on the same slide?
Mine does not fragment. It only allows me to create one color
Hi. When i choose fragment, not all sections get fragmented (some remain joint/connected). What might be going wrong? Thanks.
Please share a ppt with all such diagrams on each slide
thanks
Can't get this to work on Windows 10 -It won't fragment at all.... Suggestions?
is there a way to fragment shape in powerpoint 2010?
thumbs up!!
how do you lock the shape so its resizable?
How did you clean up?
Ι can't find frangement
I use ppt 2007
thank You!!!!
How did you delete the inner circle
I made it but messed with the size 😅
Too bad he didn't explain how to make them equal parts. Otherwise nice tutorial.
You went too fast for a beginner. I could not see Joe you even changed the direction of the chevron or lined it up to be equal.
