These were awesome tips and so realistic. Been a lpn for5 years and just recieved my RN . I immediately went to a hospital for my first RN job but they didn't have a new grad residency .it was alot I ended up quiting in about three weeks. I lost alot of my bedside skills doing homecare work. You were spot on as a new nurse go some where where you can slowly build your skills. Your skills are everything in nursing this will also allow you to make more money .I know nursing can be taxing but I believe you should keep one nursing job as bedside just so you can keep those skills . It will make things very easy when transitioning to other jobs . SNF is also a great place to start some have sub acute floors where you will see a variety of ill pts like a hospital . Thank you for your advice great content
You’re right about Nursing being a physical job. I work in the ER, nightshift and this is my 20th year in the same hospital. Before that I was a pediatric nurse in the Philippines for 7 years….but it was a job I didn’t think I would learn to like, it was my only choice back then as it was so hard to find a job in the Philippines. Being an ER nurse is definitely something I truly enjoy but of course there will always be physical and psychological stress in any nursing job. That’s why I picked up hobbies like exploring the niche fragrance world. 😁😁😁I’m so glad I found your channel when I did. I think this video will help a lot of newbies.
Hi! I found you channel through fragrances, ans this video was so interesting to me. I'd love to hear more about your experiences in the profession. Thank you to all the healthcare workers!
How many settings you have applied? I only chose one which is Psych. Coz I don't want to waste my time applying to a setting that doesn't interest me. The problem is I don't have an interview date two weeks after I submitted my application. HR didn't get back to me. Applied to the biggest hospital here also but all cricket. What can you advise? Thanks
Do you wear fragrances at work? I’m a bedside nurse and even though the policy is no loud fragrances because patients can be sensitive. I’ve gotten away with Mugler Cologne and Nishane Colognise. People actually like Mugler better lol So it seems like clean soapy subtle fragrances work. I think you or someone like you from ELDO would be good too. Thoughts?
I disagree with being optimistic…I say, let ur personality shine 100%, and if you’re overly optimistic-show them!! All sorts of personality types are needed and wanted!!
Hi Troy, I think I am in the same situation as you were, no bedside experience, my only achievement is passing the NCLEX.. can you share how you get your first job in the US? If you went through agency are you able to recommend it please. I desperately wanted to start working in the US and looking into working in one of the hospitals. Please help. Thank you and more power to you!
@TroyD247Mall hi Troy, sorry to ask you again, which agency worked with you? If you don't mind.. I am desperate to be accepted in one of the hospitals, however the agency could only send me to Skilled Nursing Facility because of no experience at all.
