    I had no idea that carpet/rugs that size were made in such narrow strips and then stitched together. Thank you for sharing this discussion with us.

    I liked the "broad brush" estimate (American = ballpark). A very beautiful room and carpet.

    I so enjoyed the the story behind Elizabeth’s Saloon and would love to hear more of Elizabeth’s life. It’s obviously a well lived space to be enjoyed. They say if only walls could talk - I’d say if only carpets could show us the variety of people who’ve walked, stood, sat and played on rugs. Again it reminds me of my Mums love of hand woven rugs and we had a multitude of them in our homes bring comfort, warmth and stories too for each rug came with it’s own background. I hope the restoration has gone well and that you’ve come to a viable solution on preserving that beautiful carpet’s longevity.

    Elizabeth an I had 11 and I lost 5 cherubs . ❤ Nothing lasts forever ♾️. Rugs , homes , us .
    Capability Brown and his designs in the grounds will last longer .
