Whacky idea for cam angle sensor

This is a whacky idea I came up with to use a Bosch D-jetronic distributor as a cam angle sensor in a modern Speeduino full sequential injection system
Yes, I know full coil pack distributorless is better in every way, just think this might be kind of cool and retro using a dizzy

I like the idea of using the stock distributor and I think it would work just fine depending on your end game of course. I would think that for a modest to something less than extreme performance build there would be no real advantage to go with the coil packs.

A "Stealth Megasquirt" system already exists. Can't tell the difference without searching for it from the original D-jet.

I know , I’m just using Speeduino because I built my own board , and have complete control over the platform . My ECU will also have CAN bus to connect to other stuff .
I decided to use a Nissan dizzy, but just use the internal optical sensor as cam angle sensor , it’s an 360 count pickup, so very accurate . I’m 3d printing a cap for it . Originally I was toying with using the d-jet dizzy as a cam phase angle sensor , as I’m using full sequential .
