I've said it before, but MooShu and Marleybone would probably be the easiest remasters for the first arc, because they can reuse most of the assets from Pirate101. I wouldn't be surprised if the MS and MB remasters (if we ever get them) happen in one update.

Its going to look better, I dont want the old textures. The HD quality is so much better and revamped
I agree. It's a push in the right direction. Although I *prefer* the older graphics, this will be a good look for wizard101 overall.

Each developing game has it’s updates, and as a game improves it’s obviously going to loose its nostalgic factor. That said, I’m totally in favor of the new graphics, they look insanely better and in my opinion it’s about time such an update will be implemented in the game. Can’t wait!!
Imagine if they made a time machine to allow players to go back to the old textures? That would be cool

They should have a housing item that would show you the old w101 and you can bring your friends into it and just have a party for old time sake. I recommend one popular area in the most popular world or just the commons because that's where most memories where made and friendships. I love the update but i will miss that old rusty castle texture.

I’m actually sad seeing this in my recommended. I put so much time and money into this game. And had been playing for nine years. It’s just got that nostalgia factor. I’m really gonna miss it... this game has given me so many amazing memories :). I love you wizard101. It’s time for me to move on to better things (world of Warcraft). Thanks wizard101 for all the fun times over the past nine years I’m really gonna miss it :(.
I have played for 8 years now, this was the game that really kept me in gaming. A revamp on the graphics would take some of that rememberance away. This is the most nostalgic game that I still play after a near decade. I think it would be best if there was an option for like a texture pack in your settings.
Just the memory talking, I will forver appreciate Kingsisles work. Always. I have gotten used to the way wiz is, and after these 10 years of playing, I never thought I would see a change this signifigant is all. Sorry if it seamed as though I had no care for Kingsisle's work and dedication.

The game needs to stay relevant for the new players not the old. They're gaining more players than they're losing after all. So the new graphics I think are an amazing update(: and much needed. They make the game more serious and relevant

I remember seeing commercials for this on TV in 2009 when I was three. I had no idea what a computer was, and I never gave any thought into asking about it, so I just shrugged it off as a game I never thought I would have played. Then my friend introduced me to it, about 7 years later, and I LOVED IT. I felt happy, I felt joy, I felt that this game was something I always wanted but never knew existed. And it's not even something that I play on the rare occasion. I play for about 2 solid weeks every month, yet I feel so attached. Maybe KI just burned their game into my mind when I was younger...
I totally agree with you, as an old time player (2008) I have started playing again just recently and just to catch some of the new character animations that have changed and the new cinematic perspectives have made it fun to play again. Super stoked for the new looks.
When you were talking about your nostalgia of searching for Marleybone scrap iron, that reminded me of a couple of weeks ago when I completely botched the crafting quest on accident.
I had everything crafted, but accidentally sold some of the stuff before turning them in. I had to go across the city and multiple realms to get that scrap iron back! It was painful to say the least.
I feel like it will be more nostalgic with the new textures because everyone would walk through the retextured areas and remember what they used to look like
ive been playing this game for all ten years, it really gave me an introduction to mmo and ive met so many nice people on there. its just sad when i go online just to fool around and theres literally no one or anything going on thats irregular. the game NEEDS a revamp for newer generations to enjoy. its so simple yet so fun, this game deserves a chance to be given higher graphics and a much better character remodel as well
Yea nostalgia is big for coming back for me, but to see my childhood fav game become better is just making want to come back for more reasons.
I personally like the step up with the graphics allow details within he background seem more basic but bright I like how they added motion animation to characters makes them feel more lively and let enriches he story because now you don’t just listen but you can also watch and make it seem like he’s actually speaking not just a voice over
I havent played this game in a LONG time and I'm so glad I managed to find this video and this channel. I feel like this game is growing up alongside me and I think I'm finally going to come back to this game.
As someone who has played since 2009 I personally love the upcoming texture update. The game looks more lively in the new pictures, and even a bit more magical
I started playing when I was around 11-12 & now I just recently graduated from HS & I’m excited to get to play it more often again. Even though it’s going to take some time getting used to the new graphics I’m super excited for the new changes they’re making. W101 has always been one of my fav games. I’m hoping they eventually add more to P101 too.

I know that before it was boring at first at glance but it is one of hell of a game after 6 years of playing with my Storm Wizard. This will be the new beginning for Wizard101 and will bring new life for all wizards old and new or else the game dies along with our love and fun of this game.
Once i get my own computer i’m gonna redownload wizard 101. I used to play about 7-8 years ago but never really knew what i was doing until i stopped playing and stumbled upon your channel.
I feel like whenever you talk about things that would be good for the game like updates to it or if something was to be added, kingsisle would take your ideas into consideration and make it real which is amazing to me and it's really cool
I knew I wasn’t tripping. Just starting back playing in over a 1 and a half and noticed the changes, can’t wait for the full revamp

Alright, I’m the worst when it comes to nostalgia, I mean I’ve been playing since 2009, but I can’t tell you how excited I am for the texture update! This is a GOOD change, the game is going to look (and sound) a lot better than it did before. It’s not like they’re just going to remove Wizard City, it’s just getting a little makeover 😜
Also, it might sound crazy, but when I saw the updated tutorial, the surroundings made me think of Free Realms... Did anyone else play that game? Maybe I just miss it so much I’m seeing it everywhere 😆

I have always had much more love and now nostalgia for the audio than the visuals. As long as there isn't some great big audio update I am fine with a visual update.
Even though the old textures are going to disappear soon, it's definitely an advance for the entire game to update it's graphics,
I also know for a fact that I'm going to cry once it fully disappears though,
But the new textures and graphics look absolutely amazing, it made me love the game 10x even more

I came back after a year and a lot has changed but the graphics being updated doesnt take away the content it just improves it. I'm surprised they're still creating new worlds and upgrading lvl caps beyond grandmaster
I remember when they changed it to where you didn't have to discover teleporters anymore because they turned them on in an update.

Honestly I get people are upset about missing the nostalgia factor of the graphics, but tbh, I’ve been playing this game since 2010, and I’m so excited for the graphics update, I could care less about the previous graphics. Plus, I’m excited to see more and more people coming back to the game or starting the game as a whole. This was a great and smart decision by Kingsisle.

I really love the new textures, and I’m definitely not against it, but as a player who used to play this game everyday from 5 years old I’m really going to miss it, especially after finally coming back after a break and remembering how happy I was when I was playing the game. But it was mostly the music that I really remember and love, I hope they don’t change it for a long time.
One thing I noticed with the test teasers, if you look at the teasers compared to the concept for the bank idea, their extremely similar.
Nostalgia? are u kiddin me? Its 2018 the game will not survive with The nostalgic players, lets move on, The new textures looks great, new people and generation will want play a good looking mmo, not a outdated 2008 lookin game,
besides increasing twice the size of the game by letting both textures be used. GOOD changes are always welcome, especially if they will help the game.
Yet people still play and watch videos on the game. People will play the games that they like, still plenty of people that like this game.

I have been around since 2009, and I can say, nostalgic players will always play this game. There are plenty of us still here and we're probably how the game has remained active.
Fulano de Tal I think a bigger problem is kingsisle banning people for nothing, having the game cost more to complete every time they add a new world. Like seriously there’s no way to pay for the entire game you have to get memberships that cost a bunch and if your a casual player with one month you can get to maybe dragonspyre but that’s not even half of the worlds anymore. Kingsley needs to be more nice to players and actually show they care except for wanting money

I'm gonna miss the old textures since they've been with me since childhood. It was always great coming home and seeing the same old griddy textures.
But honestly I think the textures will greatly update the game and probably attract new players. Not gonna lie, wizard101 looks kinda sketchy right now. I'm so hyped for the "remaster".
Also yes mooshu needs a serious makeover it's hard to be in that world. Visually.

this game deserves a big update guys don't stray away from the fact that the Nostalgic feeling will be regained with these new textures. All the repetition was getting old anyways.

they could even think about opening the door up for "community created textures" like what you can find in minecraft
I really hope they "revive" the game somehow. I've seen the advertisements. I feel like they should try and make a new advertisement maybe, of course we would miss the old texture but in my opinion I think they should get the new graphics. Plus, the new players can have a better experience playing the game since less people are starting to play they like to realize wizard101 is an awesome game. I grew up on it and gotten friends from it. It truely has a place in my heart.
Edit: They always have new content coming to the game. If you get a max character, get a friend to make a character with. It's so much fun to play with other people! It makes the game truely immersive and alive!
Think of it like this, when the newest snapchat format came out, no one like it, but now ppl are use to it and dont mind it anymore. We’ll get use to the new graphic over time

Don't get me wrong, I love Wizard101, I've been playing it for almost eight years now. And, of course I'm going to miss the old graphics. But, I also think this will be for the better. I mean, c'mon, Wizard101 has been out for ten years! It's about time they do a graphic update to show the progress that they've made. Heck, when I saw it I jumped outta my chair in excitement. Also, I think they should do this with Pirate101 as well. Although I know they don't upgrade Pirate101, I personally think it would help Wizard101 and Pirate101 grow together. Especially if they add Polaris to Pirate101. But, that's just my opinion.
Remember how back then there would always be a bunch of noobs outside of the entrance to firecat alley.... good times.....
The new textures are so much better and fit in with the modern schemes games go for these days. It'll attract new players and look a lot more interesting than before. The graphics haven't aged well imo so the upgrade is necessary to bring Wiz into the modern times.
Through all 5 & 1/2 years of playing this game, I would miss the old look a bit, but I also wouldn't because it looks kind of worn down. The only thing I don't like about the new textures are the sidewalks. It just looks more like plastic than concrete.
I understand why some people would miss the old graphics because I been playing for like 7 years now. So I am quite use to the current graphics; but I believe that it is high time for those graphics to be updated so the game can appeal to new players.

All big mmos change their textures overtime. World of Warcraft did and so did Runescape. They change eventually. More people would want to come to the game because of the upgrade graphics.

I like both the old and the new graphics. Even though the old one is kinda crappy, it gives me so much nostalgia, I grew up with this game. Coming home from school and playing this game with my friends is one of the best memories.
Maybe their should be a switch. Say maybe you want the old textures back cuz maybe your computer cannot handle it or you just wanna see the old textures for Nostalgia their should be a setting option where you can swap between new graphics and old graphics. The only problem with that is it might take some coding for that to happen.

I personally think it is going to an amazing change. Like you said, it doesn’t change the gameplay, just the look of it. I guess some people just aren’t comfortable with change. Coming from someone who’s played the game since it came out, I am very excited for the graphic update. This is a brand new beginning to an awesome game.
Ok heres my million dollar idea.
There should be servers with HD textures and some with the old textures.
I can't wait to see the HD quality. I'll definitely level through all the classic zones [WC - Mooshu] if they all get updated counting dragonsypre as well since it was the first new world added to the game for all you young kids. I'll have to decide on a class though! Probably Storm!
I'd also like to see classic Wizard101 return back when the level cap was 40 or we can do it when it was lv50 with dragonsypre with malistaire robes being the best in spec and side quest bosses to get your hat, boots, etc. It took long and HARD work back then to level.
I think they should have a setting where you can choose the HD textures or the old textures since some people prefer the old textures and some people want the HD textures. Pretty sure that this wouldn't cause a whole debate in the Wizard101 fanbase.
I myself am a really nostalgic and melancholic person. I will moss the old wizard city. I still don't know wich one I prefer. The old wizard city looks more realistic, closer to the reality and I always liked that. The new wizard city looks like it is from a cartoon. It objectively is better, but the nostalgic factor balances it out. I think that when it is out my excotiement wont let me think bad about it.
I definitely agree that they will most likely update all of Wiz City and not just stop at the commons. However, I don't think they will do the same with the rest of Arc 1 as that's a major graphical update overhaul and they may leave it the same for nostalgia reasons for older players but I could be wrong. Great video though & I hope Wiz City brings some new surprises beside graphics updates and the magic mirror because some new shops/NPCs would be great :)

i have been playing wiz101 for 8 years and i stopped for 3 years and when I started playing again and I heard there were changes, i didn't really want it to change because I had my best wizard101 memories but if they change it, it is like they are taking my memories, even though i can make new ones

I do agree with a lot of what you’re saying. The newer textures will help the game last longer than most other RPGs from its time. However, I do think some models from the old look better such as Malistaire. To me he just looks so plasticy in the new.
What I think would be cool is what 343 did with Halo Anniversary to where you can go to the options or press a button to go back to the older style graphics. That could take up a lot of memory, but since PCs are so powerful now I think it would be a cool concept if Kingsisle decides to do something similar.
My name basically backlashes on the changes that they are implementing into the game, but I honestly love the new changes, and your experience is pretty much the same as mine.

I have an idea for that teleporter thing if they make a new b.o.x.e.s event quest where you go back to do something in the commons kinda going in full circle as your final adventure with the professor

They cannot change only the first arc, after this graphic update in Wizard City they will have to change all the other worlds, except the three last ones.. it would be very strange if after finishing an updated Dragonspyre you go to an old Celestia (talking about the future..)

The nostalgia may be nice but this needs to happen. As a company they want more people playing their game, this will make the game more attractive to new players

If they're gonna update all the old character models, they should update all the Arc 2 models as well, give them animations like the Arc 3 and remastered ones
