i loved nabooti island, by far my favourite as a kid. i felt so proud of myself when i beat it as a kid, especially because it was one of the few islands where i didn’t look at a walk through at all. that puzzle with the jewels had me stumped for a while the first time i played it but every subsequent time i flew through the whole island. my favourite part was always the egyptian temple, the puzzles in that area and the platforming once it starts filling with sand
Woke up this morning, 24 years old, memories of poptropica filled my mind whilst making my morning coffee. The nostalgia was palpable, knew I had to watch some vids to bring it all back
I played soooooo much Poptropica growing up! I actually do still remember my original login info and it’s fun to check back in every once in a while. :)
I was manly a Club Penguin kid and then I played Roblox, but for brief moment in time I play Poptropica. I mostly remember the Prison one, the winter survival one, and the Wimpy Kid one.
Omg poptropica is THE most nostalgic game for me, I have so many good memories with it, and I still listen to the amazing music from the game a lot. I wish i could get more back into it but unfortunately the Steam version is missing a lot of islands and the versus on Flashpoint has more features but can also be a pain to set up. It’s such a great game tho
And I wish they could bring back the old Poptropica island because when I played it when I was younger I found the old Island was so much fun but since they removed a lot of the old island in Poptropica the game is pretty much ded
dude i was a computer teacher in a primary school in my late 20s and i was as addicted to this game as my students were! i was in awe of how big the game became. one thing has seemingly remained unanimous: super power island was clearly awesome.
I personally would divide poptropica into four eras, which may not be enough to be super specific, but I believe its good enough to get a general point across. First Era: The Golden Beginning Era this includes all islands from early poptropica to ghost story due to all of them, well, these islands came before bonus quests. my favorites from this era includes but is not limited to: time tangled, super power, spy, nabooti (mostly due to exploring africa, an underrated continent), astro knights, counterfeit, mythology, skullduggery, cryptids, mystery train, game show and ghost story islands. maybe its just my nostalgia speaking at this point, but I genuinely enjoyed most if not all of the islands from this era, because I feel like you have the most freedom during these islands (which isn't saying that much since poptropica was always a pretty linear game but still) they weren't overly scripted to be as tediously linear as possible (for the most part) and you would be fine missing some things during this era of poptropica. another thing I can say is that this era is old but gold and there is a good reason why a bunch of islands from this era are pretty much mandatory for modern poptropica to modernize, because they are just so darn good that not including any of them is an even bigger mistake than the ones they are already making. the stories from many of these islands may be simple, but they are also intriguing and most people would enjoy little stories like these in a 20-30 minute journey more or less per island, and there's 23 of them in this era I believe. and lastly for any other people out there, if you don't include any of the islands from this era of poptropica in your review videos, then you are only missing out. Second Era: The Great but Flawed Era this includes all islands from SOS island to back lot island, all islands that have a bonus quest after beating the main island and before poptropica changed its aesthetic and what the game runs on. my favorites from this era includes but is not limited to: lunar colony (because I love space), night watch, and back lot islands. (wow this list is much smaller this time) this may be a bit unfair, but there are a lot less islands in this era than the previous one for a couple of reasons, firstly the bonus quests. people may have flashpoint to just have membership by default to play the bonus quests for free, but that wasn't an option when these islands came out. bonus quests are not limited to the second era, as there are more in the third era, but bonus quests mostly define the second era and its concerning gradual decline of poptropica. it's fair enough if they needed the money to run poptropica, but that doesn't mean that locking 20% of the island behind a monthly subscription paywall isn't annoying. the second thing that makes the second era stands out from before and after, is that the second era is largely unchanged design wise from the first era, but you can feel these islands to be a bit different from what came before, relying more on the story rather than the exploration to prop up most if not all of these islands, and in a way, the islands largely somewhat discourage players from exploring everything as you won't miss anything anymore, because you will see all of it if you progress the story, otherwise you don't see much. first era islands had stories, but apart from earning a medallion, nobody would blame you if you just decide to explore and mess around doing various things in first era islands. you can technically do the same for second era islands, but that is pretty much limited to running around, jumping and parkouring, there are barely if any little side mini games to play, or activities in the game that you can do completely detached from the story. Third Era: The Beautiful on the outside but Ugly on the inside Era this includes all islands from virus hunter island to escape from pelican rock island, this is a bit more broad and a shot in the dark, but this is generally what I consider as the third era. my favorites from this era includes: mocktropica (I love meta stuff), survival episodes 1-5, arabian nights episodes 1-3 (I love the theme), and escape from pelican rock island. even though I included more islands as my favorites in this era than I did in the second era, that doesn't necessarily mean I like the third era more. while the second era includes generally mediocre but passable islands, the third era is far more hit or miss. when it hits, it's better than all islands in the second era, but it only sometimes hits unfortunately. the islands that miss in this era are...not the best to say the least. whether it's because they overstay their welcome or they lack something to begin with, the less than good third era islands suffer greatly from this. even the islands I enjoyed in this era have very noticeable flaws in them that can be improved upon. these islands rely a lot more on story more than anything else, giving you little freedom to do whatever you like, especially given the new design and engine where they didn't want to experiment *too* much with things they believe players to not care about at all, only focusing on things they know the players would do, which is the story. bonus quests were a thing for the first three islands of this era, but were discontinued afterwards. this era of poptropica has decided to introduce sound which was considered an improvement from a previously silent game with very few exceptions. this era also introduced a new GUI for items and whatnot, which was met with a bit more of a mixed reaction. I consider this the era that I want to love for its beauty on the outside, but for some strange reason even back when this came out, I felt the inside of this era of poptropica to be hiding something ugly, whether its removing/replacing what made the game great to begin with, or perhaps even the idea of poptropica being perfect as we thought it was, even deciding to change this drastically in the first place feels like it is spitting on the older fans of the game and telling us to accept it or leave. Fourth Era: The Dear God Please Why Era this includes all islands after escape from pelican rock island. my favorites from this era includes: yeahhhhhhhh, I don't even know where to begin with this era. I would have much preferred to have favorites for this era, but unfortunately either I gave up before ever playing these islands, or I just was so disappointed while playing these islands that I decided to quit before I finish them. if you thought the third era was by any means bad, ahahahahahahaha~ I am afraid to tell you, but the fourth era somehow does even worse. if the third era spits on you, the fourth era stabs you, rips out your organs and grinds them into the dirt. not only did they decide to change the sound and GUI from last era, in this era they have also decided to change the art style in a big way, taking away everything that was left from the time when you loved the olden days of poptropica. you still have poptropica and poptropicans technically, but many would argue that it just isn't the same. the islands are just not good in this era at all, maybe there are one or two decent ones, but nothing favorite worthy at all to work with and you would be very quickly forgiven for wanting to go back to the other eras of poptropica in a heartbeat. despite the improvements in technology, the game hasn't improved, but only has gotten worse. what else can I say about this era other than disappointing? welp, that's all she wrote, I hope you enjoyed this unnecessarily long comment on poptropica eras and what I think about them~

I love Poptropica! My Top 5 favorite islands are: 5: Atlantis This island starts off fairly normal, but gets weirder and weirder the farther you progress. I love its atmosphere. 4: Ghost Story The ghost hunting equipment is really cool and fun to use. The story is bittersweet and the mysterious nature of the town is delightfully creepy! 3: Escape From Pelican Rock Devising new ways to trick the guards and execute your escape plan is really fun! Definitely the last good island the game had before going downhill. 2: Survival This five-part island is incredibly fun and unpredictable! I never knew what was going to happen next. It’s a roller coaster ride from start to finish! 1: Virus Hunter This is a fairly recent island (releasing before Escape From Pelican Rock) and to my knowledge, it was the first island to include music and sound effects. Going inside the body was something I was initially nervous about because I was afraid it would be too gory or graphic, but I was in 5th grade at the time, so I didn’t realize the island was made to fit the game’s age rating. There’s no way the developers could actually add photorealistic organs and stuff. I played it as soon as it released and it was a blast! Some of the bosses are really hard and you need to use the environment to your advantage. Music in the game was unheard of at the time, and the music they made for the environments of the island were mysterious and suspenseful. It really put me on edge, but in a fun way. The virus designs are INCREDIBLE and I drew them all the time when I was in school. I consider it the best Poptropica island ever made! I really hope Poptropica can return to its former glory because it’s one of my favorite childhood games and there’s a lot of genuine creativity put into it.
You should do a part two briefly discussing the ones you missed whenever you get a chance(please do not go insane). I'd love to know what you think about the islands skipped in this video.
this brought so much joy back to my remembrance. I truly miss the old islands and the old style of the game. The new style is very nice, but there’s nothing like the original. I heard that the original islands will be coming back and be available for purchase on steam. Does anyone know if this is true?
The way to play Poptropica way back then was to not look up tutorials', Unless you were completely stuck. I don't think I even watched RUclips back then at that age.
The reason you cant get your old account, is because they usually delete them if you dont sign in for 6 months. Edit: When talking about bigfoot, i liked how you said that you had to Stop a monster from capturing bigfoot, which is the true theme of this island.
This was one of the best games to THIS DAY. I really hope that the old islands come back eventually
I hope too but the creators have basically abandoned the game now
i dont think they will but u can still play old islands if u install old flash games
get flashpoint

Nice! Poptropica is an game I enjoy when I was young!
Love that you mentioned Purble Place! So many memories...
I loved the Wild West Island and the monster one the most. Spy one was fun, I didn’t like the train one, at all
For me every old island I've played was fun as long as you find them enjoyable
I wish I could go back in time just to play back the old Poptropica islands
Poptropica is one of my favorite games of all timeー this video does it justice!
22:58 re-playing poptropica as an adult and getting to that part of this island 100% unlocked a childhood memory, lol
One of my favs was the ComicCon one!
22:57 yeah that one child was me and my sister we got scared of that
I literally searched up “poptropicacore” and found this, I was very much pleased
Poptropica has been shut down
Nope
@@RAGDMP yes in December 30 2023
I missed old poptropica, I have completed many of islands 😢
The olympics one was also so nostalgic
I spent soooooo many hours grinding doubloons in the pirate map
I play Tank Trouble too when I was younger
You should have done that tier list. It would have been great to recognize all the maps that I played as a child, since you couldn't cover them all.
I love this but it hurt
Astroknights >>> such a cool concept
So much memories😢
I’m in tears 😭
You should do a part two briefly discussing the ones you missed whenever you get a chance(please do not go insane). I'd love to know what you think about the islands skipped in this video.
this brought so much joy back to my remembrance. I truly miss the old islands and the old style of the game. The new style is very nice, but there’s nothing like the original. I heard that the original islands will be coming back and be available for purchase on steam. Does anyone know if this is true?
The Red Dragon Fight was a Pain in the ass, I hated it, even with Easy Mode on
I use to play this game at school in first grade-
Do League Bowling for SNKs Neo Geo next
this game was too good
It's really sad that most of the good islands are locked behind the pay wall
Also who else was that kid that bought the poptropica guidebook?
Hi! tried opening it again, just wanted to revisit but turns out it got moved to another site. Tried opening it but can't, can anyone else open it?
I don't remember any of this maps I was really noob at the game back around 2008-2010
charlie and the chocolate factory one was good
The way to play Poptropica way back then was to not look up tutorials', Unless you were completely stuck. I don't think I even watched RUclips back then at that age.
They need to make a harder version for grown ups 😭
The reason you cant get your old account, is because they usually delete them if you dont sign in for 6 months.
Edit: When talking about bigfoot, i liked how you said that you had to Stop a monster from capturing bigfoot, which is the true theme of this island.
it shut down now..
600!
Damn i didnt rlly know this
You have to play steamworks, it's a classic. if you liker astro knights you will definitely like steamworks
Whats the game on the intro?

Wait you can’t take damage lol and the game is so different from 2012 omg
