I’m extremely happy for Felix, but at the same time feel sorry for Simon. Hopefully he recovers well enough and is racing somewhere next season. Head injuries are very complicated.
If you look at where the second car at McLaren was when Rosenqvist joined the team and then look at where it ended up, you will see that Felix has the ability to set up the race car to be fast. I think that giving him a leadership role at MSR is going to be a smart move. He is still young, hungry, and fast. If you watch any of the practice sessions, FRO is almost always at the top of the charts at the start. He gets in the car ready to go. I suspect he puts his sim time in and works with the team to create a great baseline setup.
Great for both. Also, respect to Simon, and I hope the best for him while he recovers. I have to add that I stayed at the Radisson this weekend for the race, and the Meyer-Shank crew was too, a really cool, really nice bunch of people.
Sounds like they don't expect Simon to be driving in 2024? That was a nasty ride at Mid-Ohio. SP was walking after the wreck and doing interviews the next day, but he's still out. Very confusing injury.
@@charliepalmer3244 I wouldn’t say it’s odd. It’s concussion related and that is a very tricky situation. Dale Jr. as well as Kurt Bush retired due to concussions. I’ve had experience with concussions as well, and can relate.

Well said.
Great news for Felix!! So happy to hear this news!

Agreed. And being medical, we'll be privy to very little. It's a very odd situation indeed.

Good for Felix. I feel like it's been an ongoing story last year or so if he'll be out of Mclaren or not. This should give him way more stability.
Congrats to MSR and Felix! Let's gooooo!!!!
This will be epic! Thanks for signing two really good drivers! Looking forward to 2024-25 and further. Mike seems like a genuinely top notch guy!
Grattis Felix 🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁
Big times are coming Mr Shank!❤
I feel so bad for Simon but I guess it's great that Felix also stays in Indycar
Great two way street, both sides in everything.
He will be much happier with the new team. McLaren seems to be intent on being the loose cannons of Indycar
Great choice!
awesome
I think Felix is going to be very good for the team.Cant wait for 2024
Can't wait for the Qvist family finishing 1-2-3 in Indy ...
Great news.
Does Felix get a pair of those Pink shoes that Shank was wearing on sunday?
I feel for Simon but happy for Felix. Just hope we see Simon back in a car one way or another.
Seems like the right guy at the right place.
