I first heard it watching Popeye as a child but never knew how long a song it was until that episode of TBBT, I hadn't even heard it when in the Navy for the longest 6 years of my life, nothing against the Nav, after qualifying things went faster , and I probably would have stayed in for 20 if hadn't had a few other things to do before getting on too far. The Chiefs knew all these little ditties but being in a Boat the ones I'd mostly hear were Torpedo in the Water, and The Submarine Cheer, also called The Submarine Song, depending on how much you'd had to drink while on Liberty.
