Because the frequency range of the bass on the amp was slightly different to the eq pedal. The eq pedal is 100 and 200. The amps might be somewhere inbetween. Also, at setting 5 on the amp its really just bringing the bass response of the guitar to neutral. So it was only a tiny boost. Every guitar will be different though
