Just got mine today. I’ve got to say, coming from the first generation SE, it’s worth the upgrade! The gestures can feel like a novelty, but maybe I haven’t tried it out fully yet.
Also - Apple has done a good job on forcing people to get the 9, because all of the sudden, the 8 is no longer available anywhere 😂
I have done the same. I had a first gen SE up until 2 days ago which got good use from me from swimming in both the sea and in pools, to work etc but it smashed when it fell off the bathroom sink face first when I took it off for a shower, the glass was shattered. So I bought a series 9 today and did a backup restore from that SE and while it basically looks the same, there are big differences for the better. I did see some Series 8 ones around but the price difference wasn't that much.
Which wrist band are you wearing? Looks like it might be good for small wrists?
I upgraded from series 3 to a 9 and I get it tomorrow. I’m so excited
I'm disappointed in the battery still. How am I going to track my sleep if i have to charge it overnight so it's ready when I wake up

I usually charge the watch once a day, usually a few hours before going to bed.
I had the series 6 and bought the series 9. much snappier, ever so slightly increase in display. but at the end of the day I use it to track fitness mostly, so it fills all the needs.
It was a well welcomed update from the series 5

Just upgraded from the 5 to the 9. I only take my watch to the gym and the extra storage space enables me to load more music.

How does something like spotify streaming work if you are out running and you don't bring your phone? Do you need another connectivity contract for the watch? (Never had a watch like this of any kind before).
It's horrible. This is exactly the reason behind my purchase.
Just spent two hours trying to figure it out (oh and the answer to your question is that you have to have an ATT data subscription for the watch), but the user-interface is HORRIBLE!

The series 9 is my very first watch I use it a lot I love it

How's battery life after 7 yrs..every how many hrs need to charge..?

@@Samanthaleigh94me too!! i had the 3!! and honestly i didn’t use it so much. on and off so when i recently started using it alotttt my battery still lasted all day until i hit the sack.
@@thaung86only lasts a day more or less on mine. I take it off charge maybe around 6:30am and by 10pm it has the low battery message.

I wearing Serirs 7 and work perfectly fine (my first Apple Watch), hopefully can use more 3-4 years.
I got my series 3 back in 2017/2018 and recently upgraded to a 9. I think you will definitely be able to use it for many years to come

I ordered a 9 for pickup Saturday and I’m disappointed double tap won’t be there until an update in October. I have a series 6 now and will use that for when I sleep and the new one during the main part of the day.
They probably wanna fix the bugs to make sure it works really well
@@theo5675 the touted it so much during the event should have been ready for release how much they hyped it. I’m actually thinking of canceling my order now and using my 6 for another year.
Go into accessibility and you can set it there, too.
My series 6 was doing the double tap thing and I didn’t realize until I ordered the 9

This will be my first iPhone watch. I am curious as to how well it performs.
I got the SE a couple of years back, and it was an amazing addition. Wish I had got the watch years earlier. You'll love it.
It will never be as fun as “Hey Siri, where are you?”
Once I get the series 9 I’ll keep it for a long time without upgrading until I actually need to cause I’m not one of those people to upgrade every year.

Great informative review of the real world use of the watch. I would probably still spend the xtra on the Ultra 2 for its look , battery and scroll wheel but at least I have a better choice now
I got S9 today from husband. This is my 2nd iWatch
I have the series 6 and although I want to upgrade, I don’t feel like I need to. The improvements are so incremental I feel like you probably don’t need to upgrade unless you have the series 4 or older

To me that’s a worthy upgrade from my series 6 but I’ll like just wait for the Apple Watch X or ultra 3. By then the battery degradation on my 6 would be significant enough to rationalize buying a new Apple Watch to me despite the incremental upgrades

I’ve got the ultra 1 and I’ve just brought the stainless steel 9 😂 because I forgot how comfy they are! I put my wife’s on and realised there’s a time for both watches! Like going out at night etc I’ll wear the 9 but during my work life as a carpenter it will be the ultra
I never wear my watch to sleep. So uncomfortable!

Update on comments. I have had places where the watch will auto switch to whatever wifi or LTE without the cell phone anywhere near. It is great!

@@BlitheDream It’s one of the reasons I’m upgrading. You can store your music and podcast to the watch. For me I like to leave my phone in the locker at the gym. I can stream directly from the watch and the extra storage is key. It’s like a iPod nano on your wrist 😄

I’m upgrading from the first Gen Apple Watch so I’m hoping the series 9 feels like a huge upgrade.
That's a heck of an upgrade to be honest, hope you like it!
You'll see the great upgrades in fitness and health app, if you are fitness kind of a person. But, battery life of every apple generation still sucks (i.e, 1st to 8th gen, don't know about the newly launched 9th gen). You can't make full day battery in any generation of apple watch.
The other companies who makes smartwatches gives a battery life, accurate fitness data and results.

To be able to type on the keyboard instead of drawing out letters is a major upgrade if you have series 6

No thank you, I have the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic along with the Apple Watch Ultra; on a smart watch I prefer the square shape, I can’t stand looking at information on a circle watch especially if you have to scroll.
