I carry mine everywhere. The power and light gathering is unparalleled. I tested the EL and qualitatively the optics of the SLC are equal so I’m not paying a grand more for compactness and lower power
yes they would be best on a tri pod anything over 12s is so shaky if not. I always have 10s on my chest depending on the country then the 15x56 with tri pod in my pack when I really wana pick something out, just my personal opinion thought it might help sorry it was a year late lol
I prefer the 15 SLC's because I want the wider field of view and brighter image. But I very much like and have used the 18x UHD at distances and was very impressed with them. I have a lot of clients that choose the 18x's because they do not wish to use a spotting scope and they appreciate the extra 3x. The UHD's were a big improvement over the older Kaibabs. - Cody Nelson Optics Manager
Best binoculars in the world. Leica can't get close Vortex is laughable, zeiss can't compete. The only binocular that I haven't tried would be Kowa but again I have my doubts. Swarovski is the best.

I have a pair of 10x42 question is do I buy these to go on the tripod or buy 12x50 EL as my only pair on chest and tripod ?

You absolutely don’t need a tripod for this glass. Just hold it firmly. Besides the tripod adapter is $165 so I just keep my camera on it
Torn between swaro slc and vortex uhd... which one to get?

Target got 16x32 for only $29
I am sure they are just as good as the Swaros.
