Man, a picture is worth a thousand words! (And it saves at least one page of writing!) 👍
    Thank you!
Now I'd like to see the same comparison with the following contenders (preferably 8×, athough it would be fine with any magnification as long as you use the same in all of them):
    - Swarovski NL Pure 8×42
    - Swarovski EL WB 8.5×42
    - Leica Noctivod 8×42
    - Leica Ultravid HD Plus 8×42
    - Zeiss Victory SF 8×42
    - Zeiss Victory HT 8×42 / 8×54

Great video, would love to see more content like this. I do think it would have been a fairer fight if you’d used the current model of SLCs, because the ones you used are ancient! Still very interesting.

Loz thanks i had those on hand and just decided to see how they compared we will do another with the HD version

Epic Outdoors Could you please compared with the actual SLC like you said? It has been a while 😉

Probably should've use the most modern 15x56 SLC. The optical difference is noteworthy between the latest generation and every iteration of the first generation. The NLs are clearly a better optic, but this test skewed it heavily in the NLs favor. More magnification with 20 year old technology wasn't much of a fair fight.

Do the same test with the 15S SLC HD, The most current EL 12x50s, and The NL 12x42s.
Dont think its a fair comparison using non HD vs the "new best" binocular.

C 777 we will do some comparisons for those as well.

Epic Outdoors I second C777’s request. I’d really like to see a side-by-side comparison of the NL 12x42s and the EL 12x50s, especially in very low light. Please and thank you.

How do they compare with tyhe current generation HD SLC 15x56 ?

The 15x56HD are much better than the NON... Thanks for posting either way! How did you feel the eye relief was on the NL? I sold my 12x50 cause they would black out (not a lot but more then my Leica's) if your eye socket wasn't smashed into bino's. Is the NL pure improved in that regard?

Was the SLCs dirty or scratched? I was anticipating the nls to have a slight advantage but those SLCs looked nothing like they should have.

I have the SLC 10 x 56 and the clarity and vibrancy is phenomenal. It looks like these binos had dirty lenses or the camera used was lower clarity but it’s not the same colour and vibrancy on my Binos or others I have tried. I also have the 10 X 30 2EL which have good clarity however the light transmission on the SLC is is unparalleled.

no not dirty or scratched. they are not the new HD version of the SLC though they are the previous model that Ive been using for the last few years. The HD version I'm sure would look much clearer

Is it just me? The 15x looks like it has gauge over the glass. I'm trying to decide between these two binos and based on this the 12x wins by a mile.

resolution is something that shocked me with proper ED/flourite glass. same magnification or near to it and you can pick out crucial details. not buying NL pure anytime soon though

If you’re going to do a comparison test then the binoculars need to be the same magnification !

    • @EpicOutdoors
      @EpicOutdoors  3 года назад +1

Not when youre comparing to see if the 12 is a suitable lighter weight replacement for the old 15s. In that case youd like to see if a 12 can compete with the 15 and if the clarity difference is worth losing the extra magnification.

@@EpicOutdoors yes I would agree if you’re looking for a better smaller binos. I have the 15 x 56 SLC and they are great for close ups but I like to use my Steiner 7 x 50 for general use.
