@@RootinrPootine plays too much with not enough emotion. he's like a bonamassa playing blues. lots of techno but no real mojo( for lack of a better word)
@@billgator2005 you can find examples of that in his Bireli work. But not as much as some others. And this is not a good example. Problem with anti-shredder types is they don’t recognize when it actually does have emotion. They aren’t mutually exclusive. Not here anyway. This concert-take Si Tu Savais-it’s a lot much shred-y than this, but nonetheless, it’s very musical. No doubt about it. Besides, shredding is just part of the style. Django had his cliches in that regard too.
@@RootinrPootine same reply. there are under rated guitarists that are a more enjoyable listen than lagrene. shredding is technique whether in metal, junk, or jazz. speed is something aside from it. perhaps watch players other than the promoted greats and you will hear the difference. i watch some young players on youtube who are every bit as talented techno speaking and with the feel. some of their renditions equal or exceed the promo'd greats. and for musical? do you feel something. does the player cause you to feel strong emotions( and i don't mean wft is this crap? so you turn it off). i'm not into lagrene and have never watched a complete tune of his. same with many of the promo'd artists. but i have listened to some very talented semi pro types who gain many re watches playing the same tunes. go figure. i suppose i am off base from the remains of idiolistic listeners. there is a dude who even plays with 2-3 finders when doing django. it gives the same sense of his playing as the original. if it suits you listen if not delete.
Interesting find. Not a random recommendation like most other things - tried a “find that song” app by humming something in my head, and it lead me here. I like this. Gonna save it for later.
I could transcribe it, but it would be pointless -- no one could be able to play it in real time with such articulation, tone, elegance and fire as Bireli :)
Florin Niculescu has a tone to die for.
1:55 is insane, very creative and unexpected
Bireli can do it all. And Bireli can do it all very well. And that’s why he’s the best :-P
To this day, one of the best Gypsy jazz solos ever recorded.
he is definitely a technician but no django
@@billgator2005 Ok, maybe “one of the better solos, other than everything Django recorded”. He’s clearly more than a technician.

This performance is jaw dropping.

Violinist has vibrant vibrato. Really his left hand vibrates without shaking the violin. That is impressive.
Best Troubling solo ever
Perfetti musicali simpatici
I always thought stevie Ray Vaughan was the best guitarist ever. But when i discovered gypsy jazz i realized gypsy jazz players are all goats.
1:56 - 2:05 -- Magic!
Mick Kennedy Where did he get that?! So cool!
I love this song. Django lives!!!!!!!!!!!

Cant stop watching it )))
01:55 is amazing!

Guitar is toy to Bireli.
