Court suspends issuance of new generations ID cards

The government has been dealt a setback after the high court stopped the issuance of digital IDs and the Maisha Number pending resolution of a case filed against the initiative. This is after Katiba Institute moved to court to challenge the process arguing that there is no legal basis for the rollout.
