  • Differentiating between autism and schizophrenia spectrum disorder can be quite difficult, particularly in adolescents and young adults. This educational webinar reviews the two diagnoses and how to differentiate between them. For individuals who have both disorders, figuring out which one is actually contributing to the patient’s impairment can be challenging, and this webinar will address this concern. Finally, how to treat those with autism, those with psychosis, and those with both disorders is reviewed.
This event was in collaboration with MAPNET (Massachusetts Psychosis Network for Early Treatment).
Presenter: Dr. Jean A. Frazier is the Executive Director of the Eunice Kennedy Shriver Center at UMass Chan Medical School.

I never medicated m'y daughter, but now at 12 she is so violent that all my body has serious scars. I would like to go to the mountain with her to live if I had more money, I do not think thé solution is to give them chemicals whose secondary effets are serious or take them to special confined places called sanatories. I will fight for her till the end. I Love her. It is so hard to see her like this! I am broken for her inside.

Here we have a MD medical doctor overlooking immune dysfunction and mast cell abnormal reactivity causing NEURONAL DAMAGE TO CENTRAL AND AFFERENT NERVES IN ALL BODY TISSUES.
Please educate yourself on Ehlers -Danlos, mastocytosis, mast cell diseases, autoimmunity, and Dysautonomia,
Imagine the fear and anxiety your body would experience if it was attacking itself on cellular levels in every body tissue, including nerves and collagens.

It is as if I has 2 daughters: one is nice and smily....the other looks like a démon when she gets mad. She is also autist and does not speak, but my love for her will never end. When I die some day ( maybe in some attack of her) my oldest son will take the responsibility. We both try to give her the best quality if life, but I have a lot of problems with neighbours for example. People do not understand. This is one topic that unless you live it you cannot understand. I did not either! I uses to think " these people should be closed" and now...I cry for her.

I created a second account to tell you this(I do believe that I'm shadow banned once again...)
:( You are the type of moms that help so many of us reach adulthood and become independent. You didn't do anything to deserve this, but you have helped so much. The harsh reality is that many of us have to live in institutions. Please keep yourself save. It's so hard, and she may need a different treatment that will allow her cope with the specific load of overstimulation that is causing her to go psychotic. My heart is with you and your daughter. You are obviously an unbelievably dedicated, forgiving and loving mother, and she is obviously not a bad person aside from when she loses her mind at times. I hate the sheer amount of damage caused in that state. Its almost like being a schizophrenic, consciously having to process much unfiltered subconscious noise, with an already decreased ability to control redundant thoughts, it becomes a hell and it's very hard not to act on impulse in these moments. I have an autistic therapist which has done wonders for me. We communicate much better than I do with atypical brains, and there is an aligned understanding because it is a shared experience. It has helped me, but we still have much to do, and I hope maybe it could offer some help for your daughter.

@@JhonDeer-gm6pt Thanks for writing! I do love her beyond measure, I will take care of her all my life. Amen. I know they suffer, who wants to be with strangers and locked? Do not worry, I understand her better each day and I consider myself normal although the love I have comes definitely from the Lord. Noone taught me. My oldest son says I am different from the majority of people, I find them the weird ones! I thank Father God for her and our protection , Jesus for his love and the Holy Spirit for giving me the strength and wisdom that I need daily. I am sorry for your situation, I will pray for you every day. We live in Paris, here I do not trust anyone less the wicked government, but if I was in the U S I know there are christian communities there and much more therapies and resources. My hope is our soon rapture or harpazo. Hold on, we are almost home. Meanwhile I live doing my best for God, her and others. If you need anything do not doubt writing to me to my mail: mhnbcn777@gmail.com Love in Christ❤️❤️❤️

@@JhonDeer-gm6ptOh, again thank you for your loving commentary. I forgot to tell you that if you ever come to Paris it would be an honor to meet you if you want and if you really think that some therapy could help her you can give me the address or telephone maybe in the mail I gave you. Thank you. I can always move to a better city for her, and country! France is not precisely the best one for special people. God is love and I believe in the power of love, if something can be cured is definitely with the help of it. A big hug for you 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗

I am interested in the rising prevalence of autism. Is it that there is an increase in numbers? I would counter that it is the fact that we have learned more about the symptoms and social effects associated with it and are better able to identify it in the population.

I think that autism is mostly getting more recognition, then again, population is much more compared to 1900 so obviously there are going to be more autistic people
