Does anyone remember the "America" section of Record Breakers, from the 1970s? I wonder when they dropped that or if they just didn't have it in every episode.
I think I remember that. I seem to remember they had one series dedicated to America with a special opening song. It's probably on here somewhere. It's a laugh looking at old British kids telly isn't it?
In his autobiography "Now and Then", Castle refers to the incident, claiming that an altercation followed backstage. Castle, returning to his dressing toom found a furious McWhirter - a former Royal Navy boxer - waiting for him. "To say that Norris gave me a good hiding would be an understatement".
It cuts off at best bit of the show, Roy Castle singing Dedication!
I’m 50 years old and this episode is teaching me new stuff. The educational quality of TV then was tremendous.
As a kid, I thought Norris was an all-knowing god!

I was just short of my 14th birthday when this was on telly, some memories!!
You are therefore the same age as my brother Anthony, who turned 14 that October. I was eleven and in my first year at senior school back then!
God bless you Roy 💚
Everything reads like a script idk
Good times.
Norris wasn't too happy with Roy critizing his wiggle😂
