The scent adjacent examples is a good addition to the review. It helps to “place” the scent in a profile. Get the ballpark and decide if it would provide something in a collection. Appreciated!
Love the similar scents comparison 👏 super helpful! Nice to see your critique despite being a fan. Daniel when are we going to hear your poetic praise for amouage royal tobacco and ysl tuxedo? Both are absolutely blowing my mind this winter
I've only tried Duro from Nasomatto. But it impressed me a lot. Very interesting and pleasant fragrance. I expected Absinth to be, well. Absinth. I Strongly dislike the whole "you don't know what you're buying" concept of Nasomatto. I can't go to a store and sample, so i have to blind buy. I'll therefor never buy a Nasomatto fragrance. ❤❤👏🏼👏🏼
great review. i am a nasomatto fan and i own a sample of absynth but i will pass on it. bracken is 10 times better. this one is not underrated , it's status is just right - a "miss' by the brand.... i love the alternarives suggestion, i think it really adds to your already excellent reviews!
Absinth is a medium bodied fougere without the heavy dose of clove found in Viride and Bracken Man. Not exciting but elegant, and a great choice for the office.
I didnt test it, but here is some interesting review: in order to discover the beauty and true face of this perfume, you have to wait for the temperature to be above 35 degrees. at medium and low temperatures, it remains completely with the skin, it can barely be felt even by the wearer. the heat brings out a huge cloud of green from it, bitter and pungent freshness. I received many compliments and nice comments for this perfume.....that I brought freshness into the room, that I smelled of the forest, of the shade! absinthe is unisex, which maybe leans more towards a men's perfume. It is bitter, very green and cold. It can be a very, very interesting option for those who want something new and unusual for the summer. no matter that it is linear, simple and raw, for me absinthe is a real hidden gem
Sounds really cool but waiting for a temp of above 35 degrees is nuts. Humans are not comfortable in that heat and some parts of the world (like where I am) never even get nearly that hot. Yes, heat helps performance and wear but it can’t be that high of a requirement
I really enjoy Memoir Man by Amouage. It has wormwood, one of the main scents in absinth, without the offputting anise blast of real absinth. Memoir Man has always reminded me of Chartreuse Green. A liqueur made with wormwood distilled by French Monks. Chartreuse tastes the way I imagined absinth would taste before I ever tried it. It's the only Amouage I own and I consider it a modern masterpiece. I've called it "Vincent Van Gogh in a bottle". I doubt I will like another similar fragrance more but I'll certainly try Viride at some point and Bois Mystique and Fougere Royale are other fragrances I'm curious to try. Cheers
@@SeldomlyOften It is poor, and from what I've heard, it's always been poor. If I didn't love it that may have made me skip purchasing. I have come to appreciate its subtlety as it suits its mysterious, quiet character. I like Jubilation XXV but refuse to buy it because of how diluted it has become. It's frankly shameful
@@SeldomlyOften If you spray a bit extra you get a good wearing out of it. 4-5 sprays. Lasts longer on clothes. I spray my neck and one or two sprays on my shirt. Works well when you're around people and you don't want to punch them in the face with what you're wearing.
Is that a fake of Adsinth? I don't recall the cap being being engraved. Its a solid easy to wear fragrance. It's very good but I agree I don't find it edgy at all.
@SeldomlyOften I own it as well. Your thoughts on it mirror mine. Really like your reviews. So I've not seen any Nasomatto caps which are engraved with the fragrance name on it. I own the entire line except Narcotic V and none of them have any writting on the cap. I myself bought a fake Baraonda recently and the cap was one way to point to the fraud.
@ ok so I would recommend the following easier to understand and wear fragrances: Orto Parisi Terroni Nasomatto Baraonda Amouage Jubilation XXV These are beautiful fragrances that are staples from the houses and really represent what they can offer. Not super duper easy wears but they are worth the adaptation period 👍

I’m integrating the section in all my other reviews, I don’t plan on giving strict 1:1 options, rather similar vibes and intentions.

Thanks! The option will be in all videos. I don’t have much experience with Tuxedo but Royal Tobacco will come super soon
Comparisons are very usefull, thanks

@@Roy_Godiksen Duro is amazing, one of the best from the house, Absinth is really misleading but would still recommend trying it.

Thanks a lot! I just think the marketing was bad on this.
While they have their similarities, I found Viride different and interesting enough to buy alongside Absinth in my
It’s good to find different takes on similar scents and make them work in a collection, especially if you are a fan of the scent profile

@@pauljoseph1444 I agree, it’s just marketed in a way that doesn’t suit the scent. There are other good options out there.

Do you have a review of Narcotic V?
I did not test it, for some reason it’s always out of stock here. I’ll try to get at least a sample, I need to know what it’s like 👍

It’s not engraved, it’s a chunk of wood, but yeah, it’s original. I like it too but not really mind blowing
