As an up coming engineer... I'm going ad far as to have water honey lemon juice & even lip balm ready available for artists to max their vocals...
u going places
u got a bright future for that 🤣 the mf TRUTH
YESSSS COUGH DROPS N CHAPSTICK ON DECK
ayo do you still mix? if so are you working with anyone?
Where at lol hold on
Summary:
1. Download your beats. Send the beats to the engineer.
2. Arrive early but not too early.
3. Memorize your lyrics as well as your flow and cadence. You don't have to memorize all of your lyrics but just memorize them enough. When you rap or sing off the top of your head you're more likely to put out emotions in your songs.
4. Bring out your confidence even if you have to fake it. You're like a vocal actor so express yourself correctly.
5. Communicate with the engineer. Tell the engineer what you like, don't like, what could be fixed, etc.
6. Quality > Quantity. If you worry about the quantity of songs that you're going to make then you're not going to get great quality songs. You can't really one take your songs. Take all of the time that you need.
7. Break the song down into sections. Know the structure of your song; intro, chorus, verse, outro, etc. and break it down. Try not to do everything in one take. Do whatever replacements are needed even if it's just one bar or one word.
and dont be passive in the booty
You forgot the most important: Don't be passive with the booty
Thanks bruv
Thank u
You the goat! Taking this str8 to my notes app.
One time I booked a 3 hr session for one song. The engineer was shocked. He said " I can usually knock out 2 or 3 track in 3 hrs". He did work pretty quick i did my thing. Even had a new artist w me on the song that never recorded before. Left that session with 2 Quality tracks ready for streaming. They up rn doin decent numbers
I got my pain and pleasure EP done in a 6 hour block 4 songs I was one taking as much as I could 😂
Where’d you find the producer??
Where did you like find the producer?
Link me to your songs
Whos the person?
“Don’t be passive in there either.” -WavyWanye
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤦🏾🤦🏾🤦🏾🤦🏾
😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I like to record all my chorus first before I record my verses so I can get a better transition.
Same, keep grinding 💯
I like to record my verse first cus it warms me up to the hook delivery wise
Knowing the structure is so important, once I started to learn how to build my songs, the quality increased 1000%
how did you learn the structure and learn how to build your songs.
@@jaavedfilms8172 I need to know this too
Fr
Building the structure of your songs simply knowing your figuring out your flow and style of how you want your song to sound before you even get to the studio. That way it conserves a lot more time. It’s also important to know when and how you’ll take breathers when recording. There’s a lot of fundamental points to building your structure.
If your singing, another great tip is to warm up your voice soon before you get to the studio it could help save some time as well. Respect to all the artist out there! I think with all that is going on this is a time we can all use some great music to help heal the world!
👍🏾
That's true, it's an important advice for me because I'm going to my first music studio session
Facts to the last part for sure
I had a recording session today and it was terrible. Have to reschedule. My voice got raspy and lost my range. I had warmed up throughout the day but never strained or felt discomfort, but I was so raspy and had to
Range by the time the recording session came Along. Can help but to feel discouraged.
I agree
8:06 "Dont be passive in the booty." #LifeLessons 🤣😅🙊
I saw this before I watched the video and I was like huh??? Lol
Please, don’t come prepared. In fact write ur shit in the booth as we go. U payin by the hour. Please, take ur time. Welcome to the Boodio lol
Lol
Lmfaoo a whole set up 😂
🥴
on tha flo🤣🤣🤣
🤣🤣
Most artists need to see this 💯
I literally watch at least one of your videos per day and then practice what I learned until I get in my sessions. A friend of mine who went to school for engineering told me he wanted ME to show him some things and that’s all due to your teachings. Truly appreciate what you’re doing for the music community.
This was really great, an excellent list of tips for making the most of a recording session and honestly just how to boost your artistry and professionalism. Thanks for this!
Wayne...this is hands down probably the most important of your videos!!
You couldnt be more right with all of the points.
Thats what is to be professional.
Thanks for sharing and pointing people into the right direction.
Yes!!!! I agree a lost art is ppl memorizing their lyrics. I get if you have them as a reference but its artist that STARE at their lyrics. That affects your voice and confidence
I did this on my first time then I did not like the way I sound it was too dull like I was reading in schoolb
amazing advice ... the better prepared the artists, the more confident the artists will be and save money !! on your sessions .
Super good notes, man. I'm saving this for reference when I bring people in. Sometimes it's hard to communicate these ideas and you nailed it
Great Video!!!!! This is very important to all inexperienced music artists who are just starting out in their music journey I appreciate this it's very helpful respect 💯
When you said that line about once it leaves the studio it’s going to last 10 20 years from now glad I watched this definitely hitting that bottom
When I read “Are You Even Ready?” I think .... is my voice good enough? Is it matured enough? Etc
Man that’s right cats will come in and will be messing up on there lyrics take 100 punch in hell
MATURED LIKE CHEDDAR CHEEESE :)
What does it mean for your voice to be matured
@@Treyy101 my voice is still maturing, as in my voice is growing. My voice will continue to change until i’m done growing aka maturing
@@Squiidgy I'm 15 and my voice is deep so is my voice done maturing?
Yes! Structure of a song video would be perfect! Thank you for all your videos, I’m always learning with your content!
You the man Wavy. I've been mixing shit better than a few engineers thanks to you brother 💯
Yo thank you so’ much for this video man. Really gave me the confidence and prepare me mentally for a real studio session. 🤜🏼
Straight FACTS and great info Wavy Wayne 💪🏾
I’m loving the unison preamps on the x8p. took me a bit to get used to using console and finding that sweet spot for tracking. But man oh man i recorded my guitar amp using the API channel strip pre amp last night, and it sounds AMAZING! You influenced my choice to buy that interface, thanks!
Man that break the song part is really everything, thank you 🙏
Good Job baby! Droppin Gems always! And i watched ALL the Ads!! 😂😂🤑🤑
Man soon I'm gonna record my first studio record. Thanks bro this helps me damn lot❤️🙏
I always write my lyrics at home study it so when I record at home or in a studio I’ll be ready to go.
Me too

This was spot on. You answered pretty much everything I’d been wondering
This was very helpful bro I like how you broke down everything step by step just gained a new subscriber
This has been helpful. Just starting my journey. First recording session booked tomorrow.
That pointer about qual over quan... definitely is a huge factor in perfection of artiststry...
So helpful, especially the last point on breaking the song down into parts
two yeras later this video is till usefull thank you man so much
💪🏾 u definitely absolutely right
I feel like u make it comfortable in the studio for artists🥺
Subbed man out of all the YT channels on this subject really diggin your point of view!
Thanks fam. Welcome to the family.
@@waynewav Yup Yup!
Man I stated making beats about 5 years ago just for fun I just recently bought 3rd party plugins and recording mic got my Apollo sound card but as I’m preparing for recording my own stuff I pretty much have a knowledge to record but I’m goin to work with someone to record my vocals and this is such a huge huge advices to not waist engineers time and be prepared to be ready gracia amigo
Amazing video man love your vibes and character
Brilliant advice, most of which is common courtesy and basic studio etiquette to us ol’ folks.
Ref: 05:35 so true. Also, when you’re looking down reading lyrics, it totally changes the posture, diaphragm and then obviously your vocal quality
Crazy I came across this video before my 1st studio session yesterday I didn’t watch it till after . Definitely gave a few good tips .
Appreciate it bro for the detailed video 💯💪🏾
No doubt fam
Such a helpful video, thank you 🙏🏾✨✨✨
Thank you, got my first session next week. Got great advice from this video!!
Me personally I send them my beats have it on a flash drive and I bring my computer just in case. I don't book a appointment if I don't have my sound my voice my lyrics down pack
I love you man you just made my day for my next record will love you to listen to it 😊
bro thank you so much for the tips, very appreciated!
💯💯
Bring your confidence!! Facts!
communicate uh yuhhhh that hits the spot ...be assertive, whatever it is that you do ...this is what im working one atm and it is soooo true ...people who communicate assertively, they win ...dont be afraid to politely boss around the engineer lol ....and the engineer will be there to do the same when you or your song needs some fixn
I found this video heavy, thank u for this advice
You should record or live stream a session I’d like to see your approach on recording and how u interact with the artist
I wanna see that too
I’m only 22 but I grew up in a time where we wrote everything in a notebook, notepad, composition book. We didn’t have IPhones with the Notes app. Now I will admit it’s convenient to quickly jot a melody or lyric down. But the final version of my music you hear I memorized each and every lyric. 😂
A great video of much needed tips!
I like this man.
"Unless you some anomaly, which you probably ain't. Cos most of us aren't." - That is beautiful, true, and personally makes me a bit sad. Also makes me laugh though, so that's ok.
Love the information, I find artist making these mistakes all the time and they just waste money and do not get what they hear in their head.
So needing this right now
thank you so much for this! wish i had known this before i went to the studio all catastrophic lmfaooo
This is my favorite video wavy
Wayne you crack me up bro, but thanks for the heads up 🙏🏽
Preciate you bruh💯
Awesome tips! I’m a new artist and these tips helped a lot! 🙌🏾💯

I really appreciate this so much , I want 2 study recording bt I'm jt starting to learn

Every time I watch a Wavy Wayne video we always have the same Nike sweater on
Thanks for the good advice!
🔥🔥🔥 Been recordin' on my phone for years... I definitely need quality now...
Studio time is definitely my next move...
"...in the WHAT?" 😆....am heading to the bush to get them lyrics in my head.... Thanks so much for this
GREAT video. Such good tips for any genre of music. I think one of these for engineers would be great. Like, you're paying for time at a bigger studio to record drums, for example. Are you ready? Do you have everything you need? Do you even know everything you need? I'd love to get your take on it cuz I don't wanna be embarrassed when I walk into a big studio and the studio's engineer asks me questions and I don't know what they're talking about
I’m glad you said you are putting your machines at risk by downloading because I risked about almost 10 laptops and six mics
Great topic! 👍🔥💥
Tank you dude, just pushed me. Up
Well … thank you for this .. time to get to work. Love your content btw
Amen to all of these.
✅
Really useful for artist Thanks ever so much .

Patiently waiting....
You are so right Wavy Wayne Quality over. Quantity Exactly I see way to many people do Quantity and It sounds like it was rushed.
Thank you , love peace and bliss divine being
Excellent TOPIC!!!!
Keep em coming bro
💯
I would love to just walk into a studio to see the process because I don't understand how the artist do what they do and how the producers do what they do to make fantastic music
Great video man 👍🏼
This is perfect
Wow! Awesome advice.
This is so helpful I already started doing some of these before hand but I figured I would look up any extra information and this is great! Also I’ll make sure I’m not passive in the booty hole or the studio😂
Thank you so much this was a big help for my first recording session.
Let link up on a song
Thanks bro, u really appreciate so much 👌👌👌
