Thanks for showing the islands in the map. That really helped visualize what You are saying. I know its obvious to You where things are, but for us, it really helps.
You’ll also understand Mauritian Creole: as a Mauritian I understand Haitian Creole. So amazing that we’re on two different oceans and yet our languages are so close.
As someone who spent just over 2 weeks in Seychelles I can confirm it is expensive but there are places where you can buy cheap tasty street food such as bbq fish and rice. Do not be put off by the prices as the Seychelles is one best places I’ve ever been to and I pull recommend it to everyone.
@@maryacharlette9324 working and living in Seychelles for 2 year, I honestly have to say, Seychelles coconut is the worst in term of quality (and price)
Mauritius has a lot more to offer than just the beautiful beaches; they are so many things you can do inland. It's so beautiful. But the richness of Mauritius comes from its diverse cultures, and most of all the beautiful tasty unique food. You can't go past a lovely pair of Dhal pourri from the street vendors or the beautiful local markets. Mauritians speak fluent French and English, which make it easy for tourists to communicate. Anyway, I may be biased but hey, Mauritius is so beautiful in every way. 😊🥰❤👍

Lovely and interesting video but a little bit too harsh on Seychelles over a rainy public holiday. Seems like you chose the wrong time to spend a day here. So let me break this down to you. Victoria Is the last place anyone goes during public holidays and Sundays. Middle aged people are quite religious here and mostly go to Church during Cristian Holidays. The younger generation tends to venture to the coast for picnics, parties and drinking. So keeping to the coast on a nice sunny day is quite fun especially at Anse Royale Beach and Beau Vallon beach. Shops and cafes are mostly opens in these areas (Not Victoria). If you want to have a good experience of Vitoria you need to come during the weekdays 10 am to 5pm, Saturday 10am to 1pm. So on that part I will have to disagree with your critique, Seychelles is not boring... you just flew in on a bad day. The part which I agree with you is the budget.... Yes its expensive here!!! Especially for tourists. For some reason prices are excessively blown up for foreigners...something I am totally against. One example is, On La Digue a 400ml glass of juice will cost tourists $7 compared to $3 for locals. NOW THATS A RIP OFF, AND DISCRIMINATING!! So one Advice is.... Do not purchase anything from Non-Licensed vendors you see around the beach... regardless if the coconuts, fruits and food look nice and fresh. Don't fall into the trap. Keep to the Shops who may also sell both local and imported fruits at regulated prices for a better deal. Or if you so happen to make friends with trustworthy locals, ask them to buy the food and fruits for you. As for the taxi fare.... it's the same thing... There are so many Taxi licences given out, So drivers make less and less due to rising competition but nothing is done to reduce their taxes and insurance. So they as well blow up the price for tourists especially new arrivals who may not have a choice or do not know any better. But regardless of their troubles, fair rates should be the same and metered for every passenger. So my second advice... when traveling to Seychelles, try as much as possible to do it though tour operators or travel agencies with fair prices on tickets and who mostly offer transfers from the airport upon your arrival and to the airport on the day of your departure. Keep well away from Taxis unless there is no other choice!!!! If you want to get around during your stay you can either rent a car which will set you back $220 (minimum) as deposit and $58 (minimum) for daily rental fees. The deposit is refunded after the car is returned WITHOUT DAMAGES. But be very careful to take pictures of the whole car and inspect thoroughly before signing the rental contact. Else you can just take a bus to move around. They have a good busy schedule during the weekdays but dies down a bit during the weekends and public holidays. But don't in any way attempt to take a bus with your luggage, you will be left on the bus stop as new policies do not allow luggage on busses. Here is a link to the bus schedule for 2019 www.sptc.sc/schedule/ In regards to the video about the Indian worker, the shop keeper is employed by an Indian business man and as much as I share his pain of working 365 days a week, their contracts are negotiated in their country of origin. Indian entrepreneurs prefer to have Indian expats under their employment because its cheap labour. Most of them are running from the hash life of India, to seek employment in other countries, just to make enough money to send back to feed their families. This is well known by the Indian business owners which they use to exploit their employees, just because they have limited choice and because. Public Sector employs people on a 8hr per day basis. Private sector generally provides the same hours...and are obliged to pay overtime fees if the regulated hours are exceeded. Its very rare to see a Seychellois citizen working more than 12 hours a day unless they chose to or have more than one job. I do hope these details given are helpful to you and any other visitors to Seychelles. If you ever decide to come back for a second try feel free to get in touch with me waren.andre@gmail.com You just need to pay your travel and personal expenses. We will provide you with the rest. cheers again and al the best on your travels ... Big fans of both you and Mark by the way W & J Andre

I had 2 years working and living in the Seychelles full time. The country offers all what you need for a tropical summer vacation. And that's it. So far, already back to Vietnam but still love one day go to Mauritius, and back to Africa in general.
