Thank you!!!! Just adjusted the tension nut and it fixed my problem!!! Would not of know this adjustment if not for your video!!!! It saved me weeks without my machine and travel to and from the closest repair place!!!
At 6:30 "... need to be installed with the CONVEX sides facing each other." For someone following the audio here, this is important. Actually, it's important in simple reality.
Thanks so much, I hadn't used my Longarm in a long time and went to change the tension pads which mine has round felt pads (1999 Gammill Optimum and couldn't remember for certain which way the parts came apart but this helped to make sure I put it back together right.
When looking at a bowl or plate as it sits on a table...the bottom is convex in configuration and the top is concave, anything shaped outwardly is convex, inwardly (as with a cave) is concave. Good video.
Hi. This is a great video. I need to fix the tension assembly that I took apart while cleaning it. I do not have the book for the machine. There was no cone spring and there is no tension barrel. The check spring was not moving when I was sewing and the threads would pull out out of the fabric. Do all tension assembly’s have a cone spring? Maybe I have a machine with a missing part. It was purchased used. This is a Brother VX808. I would any insight you can provide.
I thought this was a great video. I would like to see a video demonstrating the proper setting of top tension. Specifically, I would like to see the how the spring behaves with proper tension. Does the thread pull the spring over to the stop completely or should it be balanced between the limiits of the spring movement.?
One other thing...some tension assemblies have a small metal pin that is loose inside the assembly..be careful that it does not fall out and get lost (been there, but found it). TinLizzie18 products have this type of pin. It goes into the assembly at the back..same way it came out.
Is it the 'concave' sides of the 2 tension discs that FACE each other or the 'convex' sides that FACE each other? It looked like the convex sides face each other on the video.
I have a brother db2-b755 -3b but the check spring cylinder does not come out the machine even when I pull the set screw. Please can you tell me how to remove it
Hi, thanks for the video... i have a Singer 368 and the thread tension regulator isn't held on with a screw... the screw is hidden somewhere. Do you know how i might remove this complete device? i have tried most everything! and its working improperly so i need to replace it. when i thread it, its all good,,, but as soon as i sew, the device pulls the thread out from between the discs. :/
Hi` a nice tutorial thank you,I now own a 132k6 singer that has this type of tension adjustment`but I also have another tension adjustment above the one your showing as well` but with no check spring`it just has two disc`s and a coil spring and a circular nut to place pressure on the spring which puts pressure on the discs . I know thread runs through this first tension then the thread goes to the one you describe,But why do I have the one above as well lower down on my machine .and which one do I adjust to place tension to correct my tension so my thread has the same tension to my bobbin.God how many times have I mentioned tension LOL.
