You guys should take your family up to Tennessee and visit Dollywood and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. You would love all of the attractions and shops in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Dolly's Christmas store is amazing!

I saw the Castillo every day as a young child, I grew up on Anastasia Island on the other side of The Bridge of Lions.
thats what so great about st aug. you can do all that in the old city, then drive SE a bit to Anastasia island to see/drive on the beach etc. best of both worlds!

You guys should visit Key West and Sarasota beach resorts anna maria island, long boat key and lido key areas you would love it. Definitely thinking of a visit up to St Augustine on our next visit in May.

We like you, like Florida but didn't do parks in July,last November we did two weeks in Orlando and a week down in Sarasota,it was great.
We going again next May for 3\4 weeks and are thinking doing something similar,how did you book your accommodation.
Great to see coco beach we did Daytona in July.
But thinking of visiting coco when we go.

Leigh, you need to visit Michigan to visit the Christmas shop in Frankenmuth. Not sure if you’ve heard of it, it’s called Bronners. It’s amazing !

Hope it was safer on a night than New Orleans people seem to have a romantic view of New Orleans . Unfortunately it can be very grim and dangerous.
I’m glad you’re spending some time in some other parts of Florida outside Orlando. It’s easy to think all of Florida is one thing until you go to a place like Saint Augustine, with all of the Spanish influence in the architecture. Too bad the tapas place was disappointing, since the atmosphere looked nice.

People south of the USA speak Spanish but they are Mexican. Spanish people come from Spain. Spain is really different than Mexico even though they share the same language, their food couldn't be more different. Spain is famous for Paella, seafood and tapas, not burritos and such. Since they are European they are more familiar with Spain.
Spain and Mexico might speak Spanish but they are nothing alike, just like France and Canada both speak French but again nothing alike. The restaurant was NOT Spanish tapas, the menu might have said it but that's as Spanish as it got
