I don’t want another surgery in a few years! That’s a lot of money and time. I thought this video would reassure me, and instead it depressed me.

My legally blind husband is five weeks post op., from having tube shunt put in his right eye.(his better eye) He has had major pain this whole time. His eye lid was swollen, and after antibiotics, two rounds of steroids, in addition a steroid drop. He still is experiencing pain. No pain medicine prescribed. His eye started bleeding last week, and continues to leave a blood trail down his face, and pool around his eye. He has not regained his eye sight as of yet. He is scheduled to have the tube shunt removed, and have a goniotomy done instead, His left eye, which was considered his worse eye. had a goniotomy done, and is doing well. Both eyes have had a significant improvement in eye pressure. Here's hoping for some improvement to his right eye.

you won't regain sight that you loss. this operation is to release pressure.

To my knowledge, it is impossible to regain lost vision. The surgery mainly acts to reduce pressure in the eye by removing fluid from it.

Are these dangerous? Can they cause infection or irritation?

Getting ready for the Ahmed Valve in 10 days...I was wondering how your eye pressure is now & did your vision change?? Are you still sensitive to light? How was your vision the day after surgery? Thanks

This procedure is very painful post op. Don’t understand why this doctor isn’t expressing that it is. Had to take two Tylenol’s around the clock. Almost three weeks into surgery. Corner of eye extremely pink !!
