    I noticed that NOTHINGF was saiod here about PRESERVATIVES. My OPthalmologist insiss that if I use a drop for dry eyes such as "Refresh", NEVER use one with preservatives, but neither he nor any in the past talk about preservatives in the drips he prescribes. I was told recently that the drops I use Pilocarpine, Brimodine,l Timolol etc have Thirmerosol (sP0 in them and that it causes scratching of the cornea . DOES ANYONE ELSE HAVE A CLOUDINESS TO THEIR VISION ? I was told the glaucoma causes this but asnother doctor told me the preservative causes it. My straight ahead ability to read letters has no blur but only this severe haze and . Why do doctors avoid talking about preservatives ?

Also, note the bad side effects of the PRESERVATIVES in these medications, especially if used long term: >> Baudouin, Christophe et al. “Preservatives in Eyedrops: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.” Progress in retinal and eye research 29.4 (2010): 312-334. I say this to all of the patients in the comments. I was diagnosed at 18, now am 45. Current doctor insists on eye pressure to be at 12, but no higer than 15. She does not believe in generic drugs. Very serious person, which i totally respect. She says you have to assume that you will live to be 90-100 lol that is why you have to keep it down by all means. What i really want folks to try is a regimented diet for 2 months and see what happens. At 5'8" i was near 190 lbs (which is way to heavy for a short person). I decided on the foll...breakfast glasd of water 1st thing. Then fruits alone for breakfast (bananas, apples, paypaya, watermelon, blue berries etc)...with the smoothies added ginger & the melon was the liquid for the drink....if no melon i'd use almond milk. Lunch :peas, provisions like yam, dasheen, cassava, green figs, steamed vegetables (cooked no more than 2mins in some olive oil), salads. CUT OUT ALL MEATS, except fish. The NO NOs': No flour, fried foods, preserved foods (stuff in tins), no sugars..ZERO, no rice.the only liquid consumed was water. I went from 189/190 to 132 in the 2 months...oh no eating after 6pm...only a salad if you must and wash it down with you know what: Water. It was tough the first week and a half but my stomach just tuned in. The hunger pangs stopped. Apart from losing weight i coincidently had my annual check up & tests at the opthomologist. Ran through all the various tests as i'm sure you all do...field tests etc...her reaction when she looked into my eyes was one of awe...i could here her repeating under breath" wow...this is fantastic..everything looks so different". Long story short, i never got those sort of readings, everything was looking great....blood flow was great, eye pressure even better. My blood pressure was also way better..like a 20 yo. Other thing at the side, i used to suffer with acid reflux badly...that just stopped. I have resumed eating some stuff but i dont feel for rice again...i'd eat that and flour once a month...i remain more off of sugars (i do use one teaspoon of honey per day). I know longer call it my diet, but its just my way of life. As someone said...when you think of eating all the nonesense out there ask yourself "in a day, is eating all you can think about? Eat to live, dont live to eat." There has got to be some correlation...visit your green markets more than the grocery...those west indian & asian stores to get those provisons. If you dont know how to cook em, get online or someone who can show you.

      My pressures are usually 46 left eye and 44 right eye, been pretty steady since my teens. I hate the meds most give me terrible eye pain and headaches so I have always refused treatment. Well now I am turning 50 with the same pressures and no eye damage at all. So my complaint is, if there is no change or damage in decade why do I need to take these meds?

    • @forward_ever_ever2595
      @forward_ever_ever2595 Год назад

      @@richardkranium2584 sir PLEASE listen to me there is a reason glaucoma is called the 'silent thief of sight'. It takes away your vision slowly over decades... Your occular pressure should NOT exceed 17. You will regret not taling care of this now. The damage is being done internally, with possible bleeding (God forbid) taking place at the back of the eye. Seek another opinion...there are many new meds on, also consider ALT & SLT. Change your diet as well as this helps significantly. Exercise with walks & light cardio to ensure proper blood circulation. With those readings, that is a bomb waiting to explode. It happened to a friend of mine who had a similar outlook as you. Today he is legally blind & regrets it.

And it's well known by Ophthalmologists, and is well documented. In fact when I had my ophthalmology appointment and mentioned I'd noticed my eye drooping, his response was 'ah that will be the drops' (I had recently started). So why didn't you mention it prior doc??? And it aint written on the safety data insert either. Plus darkness under eyes, deeper eye crease and also the eye can atrophy.
