Hello from South Africa 🇿🇦. Thank you for sharing. The "new South Africa" knows all about PTSD .... I really enjoy your channel. Peaceful and interesting. Thank you.
This brought tears to my eyes. Thank you so much for sharing. My little brother retired From the Army with the rank of First Sergeant after 20 years, countless deployments, 2 tours in Iraq and 1 in Afghanistan. I am so proud of him. However, I also know that all who serve in combat come back in need of healing and we owe them more help than what they are given. I am so glad that you were able to find healing. I do want to thank you for your service. For me, these are not simply kind words, but a truly heartfelt expression of gratitude. Thank you.
Shellie, I truly feel the love and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for responding. Your brother sacrificed so much and out no small feat to make 1SG. I have mad respect 🫡. I hope he also receives healing if he suffers from any of this. Thank you so much for following. ❤️
I first want to thank you for your service to this great country. My father served 22 1/2 years in the army. He is now retired and 79 years old. He don’t speak much about things that happened during the war, but allot about the different countries he lived in while serving. Your video has really touched me today, and seeing how the service has affected so many people in different ways. I see so much PTSD from military people these days. You are strong and you all have become heart farmers. I thank Mike for introducing you and your family to me and hearing your story. I also suffer from PTSD and have for many years, and I have not reviewed healing for it, I so many times wish that one day I could wake up and it just be gone. But I suffer from it everyday, I can’t sleep at night, I go days with only 4-5 hours of sleep during that time. I go to therapy, and have for several years, I turned to alcohol around twenty years ago, trying to block the pain and thoughts but it really only made them worse, and made me more angry and violent person at times. I suffer from anxiety and major depression, and it is liking living in a nightmare everyday. I have been dry from alcohol for over 16 years, and drugs for more than ten years. I turned to things to try and numb the pain of thoughts, imagines and the abuse of it. But nothing helped me to rid my mind of it. I have been a Christian for along time, have so the lord so many times to just take these thoughts away from my mind, and the hard part was learning forgiveness. Forgiving the one that caused me to suffer this pain, to forgive them to love them and see them was hard and is still very hard on me. I try my best to stay away from this person as much as possible, and if I do see them, I retreat to another room or try to get as far away from them as I can. I wonder if the pain will ever go away. Thanks for sharing your story today. Sort this is such a long message, but just sharing my story helps.
James, thank you so much for sharing your heart and for your service. I know so many of us who served in uniform sacrificed a lot both mentally and emotionally. I too suffered from major depression and had lots of anxiety and anger issues. I hear you as I too only get about 4 hours of sleep. I wanted to block things out so I would try to stay busy all the time but there is no running away and we all need healing. PTSD was rough on my marriage with Sophie as we got married when I came home from the war. You can imagine that it wasn’t a smooth transition. I received lots of healing through counseling because I’ve had brokenness growing up in conjunction with Army PTSD. Through homesteading, I accidentally found that by caring for my animals, as well as through the Grace of God he gave me daughters, that I have received healing and now experience more joy in my life. Thank you so much for your courage in sharing your story. We need to speak out. The only soldiers I’ve ever lost was not due to combat but through suicide, and that includes a couple of my West Point classmates. It’s no joke. I am grateful that you found our channel through Fit Farmer. Mike is a dear family friend of ours and we love the content he puts out. He is extremely genuine and is the same in person as he is on camera. I pray that that you receive full healing in your journey. It’s not instantaneous, but life is worth living with great purpose. Thank you, friend. 🙏🏼
Thank you for your response, I have really enjoyed your channel so much. I have two kids a son and daughter and four grandsons, and I am blessed to have my parents. I take care of them everyday My moon will be 82 this year. My kids are amazing, I am very close to them and my grand babies. I pray for healing everyday, I have been in church all my life pretty much. I just heard you say you so live here in Tennessee. I also live in Tennessee, I live in new Tazewell Tennessee. It’s located right at the Kentucky, Tennessee and Virginia lines. We have lived here for z& years. My mom and dad purchased a trailer to live in, they downsized from bigger home out is easier for them to care for. But more we are looking for land to move on to, she is wanting a bigger home and also we are wanting to start homesteading and having a bigger garden. I have several raised beds and pots o grow in every year. But I want to actually grow in ground , have shot more food. And get some animals to raise for a source of food as well. What part of Tennessee you sell live in? We moved from the Knoxville area to where we are now, I miss the city, but we can be there in about forty minutes on a good day. I am looking forward to your next video. Have a wonderful rest of your week and the weekend.
@@jamesbrown8718 I’m definitely in your neck of the woods and have shown land in Tazewell. I can certainly help if you are interested in searching for more land. www.homesteadingrealtor.com
@@sprinklewithsoil thank you so much!! We are definitely looking, we want to upgrade our home to a bigger one than we have at the moment. And we are tired of trailer park life it was okay until they squeezed is in on both sides. I feel like we are trapped and I want to breath, I want animals and a god garden space to grow more of our own food.
Very sincerely, my whole family thanks you for your service. We do not take it lightly- you answered a call and are still feeling the consequences of an enormously selfless act. You are now bringing us closer to God's creation with you and your beautiful family's farming expeditions, and we thank you for sharing this journey of yours with us. I'm taking notes on your farm advice so that hopefully one day, I, too, may farm successfully. God bless you and yours always!
Thank you so much for your comments! We hope that what we put out is helpful and will be a blessing to others. It doesn’t take big drastic steps, you can make small steps every day towards this goal. We will be releasing a new podcast episode on this topic. Rooting you on! 🙌🏼
Oh, you have touched my heart so much. I wanted to live the same lifestyle, but I married a city boy and have just been able to dabble in it a little bit. I live my dream life through people like you. Thank you for your service and God bless you and your family.
I loved listening to your story. I'm so sorry that you and so many others had to experience the horrible trauma that you did. My husband and I experienced another type of trauma when our niece that we are raising was groomed and kidnapped. We are putting together the pieces every day.God bless you and your family.
Thank you for sharing your story. I came across your channel through Mike and Lacie's, 'The Fit Farmer'. I think what you and your family are building and achieving together is wonderful. I wish I lived closer but live miles and miles away in fact in the UK and wish I could do what you are both doing, so I enjoy watching channels like yours and live my dream of perhaps one day, perhaps one day. Have a lovely day.
