Engine gear was so OP back in the day , I remember going to a toys r us tournament as a kid with my imported Drigger GT and breaking someone's galeons attack ring in half when the engine gear kicked in. Thanks for the nostalgia zanke.
Always nice to see the retro beys again, and I like how you mention the competitiveness of the old parts instead of just doing a video. Nice vid as always.
You should check out Dranzer GT. Takara's parts naming is a bit of a lie: the Final Clutch Base (Dranzer GT) isn't exactly a Final Clutch, as it activates sooner during battle than Final Clutch is known for. Some fans jokingly call it "Middle Clutch". Also, the EG is "Reverse Engine Gear"...it briefly forces the blade to move in the opposite direction. (It's still right spin, but it MOVES to the left) The Hasbro version is very inconsistent, too. Meanwhile, Dragoon GT's Attack Ring, G Upper, works decently enough within the EG System, BUT, like literally all Dragoon ARs from Dragoon S onward, G Upper works at its absosmurfinlute BEST on low Blade Bases...your SG Flat, your SG Metal Flat 2 (from Gaia Dragoon V), but best of all, Storm Grip (from Dragoon S). A sick combo I used to run is: (Optional: Ice Dragoon as the Bit Chip, more on this later) AR: G Upper WD: Ten Wide SG: Neo Left (Dragoon V or V2)+Heavy Metal Core (Takara's Metal Driger) or any Magnecore or Metal Weight Core (for Hasbro) BB: Storm Grip For me personally, with Ice Dragoon as the Bit Beast/Saint Beast, I called this combo "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" (Ice Dragoon is the closest thing to BEWD; the sticker was usually found as an extra sticker with Cyber Dragoon and a couple others). Speaking of which... definitely get the Takara version of Metal Driger. It's got a special EG shaped Spin Gear that holds the Heavy Metal Core, the absosmurfinlute heaviest SG Core you can get. It's highly sought after, as it literally increases the weight and power of whatever you put it in. Attack type combos like the one mentioned above get a bit of weight to stabilize them. Defense type combos get even more weight to be even tankier; this is pretty sick for combos using the Attack Ring & Support Parts of say Driger V2, Voltaic Ape, or Dranzer V2. Balance type combos get the best of both worlds (Driger S's Tiger Defenser, Ten Heavy, Neo Right SG+HM Core, Metal Change Base...it's a near-stock Driger S that kicks far more ass than normal! Similar can be done with Flash Leopard & Galeon, but SG Semiflat is a trash BB) Stamina types don't necessarily benefit, as they really only need something like the SGs & tips from Wolborg, Wolborg 2, or Burning Kerberos. I say all that to offer some perspective before saying this: WE SHOULD'VE SEEN THE SIGNS BACK THEN. And we should've warned the generations of fans that came after us. Hasbro's release of Metal Driger DITCHED THE HM CORE in favor of a regular ol' EG, wouldn't be the last time either. Worse yet, until the Hasbro exclusive wave, Hasbro EGs were fairly weaker than Takara's. Hasbro Gigars & Zeus LOST their Customize Gears & Customize Engine Weights. Then the Hasbro exclusives largely nerfed a ton of stuff just to keep the gimmick going...very few things that were originally non-EG System releases stayed intact. Forced linewide gimmick, screw accuracy? Check.
Also that weight disk on dragoon had a hack to it , if you used two of em on one of the older standard plastic Gen bottoms you can flip 1 down the opposite direction and fit the other on top. It only works if you usea galleon or gazzely attack ring by removing the spinning ring from them. Me and my friends used to do double weight disk plastic gen battles all the time and they rivaled the metal fight beys.
Such a sick bey!!! A childhood favourite alongside dragoon g and dragoon ms, there's something about the insane amount of recoil that plastic gen has that I just love!!! (That's probably why I love using guilty longinus)
For a future plastic video you should try to make plastics compatible with string launchers! I understand if you wouldnt want to tho since there could be a breakage risk
Great choice of beyblade. Dragoon GT is my favourite Dragoon ever, and is easily the most fascinating one of the choices, mainly for that EG, and because it's pretty rare. I'll probably never get this bey, so more videos on it is great! Good overview!
Loving these blasts from the past! :) I recently added this bey to my collection after painfully paying the insane second-hand value it has these days. Dragoon and Dranzer GT are peak plastic gen design IMO. The battles in the anime that feature these beys were by far the most epic too!
I really wish I got this as a kid. I could've gotten one back in 2004, but I was strictly into Dranzer. Glad I own one now in almost mint condition. My dream now is to make one out of stainless steel (attack ring, bit chip, blade base). Now that would be one flashy looking turbo beyblade.
I miss my old GT I had one when I was younger, and made the terrible mistake of giving it away to a friend, been with beyblade since the beginning but always had a bad habit of trying to share my beyblades and giving people them sometimes, makes replacing some like my GT and my missing Dranzer MS a pain. Good to still see the love of them.
Thank you soooo much for bringing Tyson Granger back in the map it's been 2 decades and I know kids back at that time majority of them totally forgotten Beyblades and bringing them back in the map makes me feel like Tyson is not gone the Bladebreakers are just there♥️♥️♥️
I start to look at beyblade g revolution it was a pretty good anime back in today I washed this on my computer along time ago and I kind of like dragoon one he was one of my favorite beyblades I've ever seen nevertheless even though I don't play beyblade that much anymore it still an impressive sport 😉👍
I wanted one of these GT beys when I was a kid. But, we're poor, so I just had to imagine my second-hand, worn Dragoon V (a rich classmate gave it to me) as a Dragoon GT. Ah, those days.. 😆
Dragoon GT is prolly ny fave gt bey i have 3 in my collection i do love HMS more though. It looks like your tip is prety worn fhats why its so slow a fresh tip is much flatter and faster.
Yeah keep in mind I did have a used lot for it I don't think mine is too clapped it still has enough movement to make sense it is mostly for fun tho or just left stuff to try and work out
@@zankye yeah for sure minty fresh ones are expencive im a collector and managed to find a NIB one for about 75 usd 6 months ago i would say with a new tip its about as fast as quick and with the EG a little faster than Xtreme

I swear Plastic Gen battles were almost as destructive as battle robot fights.
You too? I destroyed a kid's bound defender with my dranzer v.

Just picked one up for $75 and had the launcher rip cord and engine gear winder. Can't wait to see it!
My favorite dragoon followed by metal storm
I'm loving this the old generation is my favourite this is awesome go Dragoon GT
I miss chunky Blade bases. The only thing that we have in burst that is similar, are the disc&driver combos like ignition or all might for example.
