    Everyone loves being the operators! Then you realize someone is going to have to get you back up for operation! To all of the unsung heroes out there who keep the machines going in all weather ! God bless them! And thank you!

    I LOVE a good d4h dozer. Im old school. The less electronics the better. This was a good phase of modern design but least electronics. Good ground clearance, balance, small size for finish work, and can back up a slope! Rides good because the seat is near the mid point. Final drives can be serviced out the side and trans can be pulled out the back!

      You said it. I didn't trust myself to do it, Cam had to run the dozer and the track loader for most of it.

    Question. Got a crank shaft regrinding shop. Many of them have a sumerged are crank welding machine that just sits idle most days. Take apart the bottom rollers. Machine a spindle to mount them on to have the crank shop build up the rollers. Just an idea.

      @RodC327 Год назад

      Back in the day there used to be a lot of shops that would rebuild rollers and idlers. I think the cost of new ones has went down made this a bit obsolete. Many of them used special rods that welded a bit soft, if you use a standard rod it will be much harder than the chain and it will wear much faster. You also have to replace the bearings and deal with the inside of the roller being destroyed in many cases.

      @@dougpersell8776 I've had to drill out lots of broken bolts. It's a lot easier to put never seize than take track frames off and drill.

    Be a heck of alot easier if you'd just turn the tractor over, wouldn't have to lay on the ground then. 😉

    Stoopid suggestion........why not pressure wash before starting repairs ???

      This is all undercarriage work, not really necessary to be that clean with everything. All the mating surfaces for the Rollers, master link and such have to be very clean, these we cleaned really well. We also have no running water out there, our water truck is what we normally wash equipment with, and all that equipment has already been winterized. The temps are getting pretty low at night, we did have 2 good warm days you can see.

      @matthewmarzec5927 Why do you say that? These guys worked and completed the job. They also worked with what they had. Just because the repairs were not done in a fancy dealer repair shop, does not mean it was not done right.
