I get this to work great on my DM7 through the Primary switch but no control over Redundant (when control is connected to Redundant). Is control over Redundant possible?

Are there any videos to recommend for setting up VLANS in a single switch for Primary and Seconday?

We’re guessing “yamaha mode” on the receiver!😜

Very informative video! Thank you for sharing! Two questions..I have a similar setup (CL3 - 2 RIOs - 2 SHURE AD4Q)...i have the RIO's at unit IDs #1 and #2...is there a reason you re giving ID's to your RIO's #2 and #3? And second question ...why having a static IP for the shure control?dhcp if you have a router connected to the switch or auto ip (no router just devices connected to 2 switches creating a lan with range ip 169.254.x.y forcprimary and 172.x.y.z for the redundant network is working fine ...and correct me if I am wrong but shure control and primary dante must be in the same range ip...mixer control should be in a different range IP from device (shure) control...i think...xD....take care m8 and be safe

      Hey Stratos, thank you!
      1. You can indeed use unit ID #1 and #2. It's just coincidence that we used #2 and #3.
      2. You're way of setting up the network is absolutely correct and definitely the 'simpler' way to do it. Maybe we should make a sequel of this video to explain that way as well, because that's probably how most setups use it.
What you are doing is combining the Dante Primary network and the Shure Control network into one. So that's why, in this case, they must be in the same IP range. What we were doing, was making 3 separate networks (one for Dante Primary, one for Dante Secondary and a control network (for Shure Control and Desk Control). Because the control and Primary networks are not the same here, we better don't use the same IP range here. I agree this is more complex and needs more setup time, but (especially in bigger setups/networks) it has some advantages too. Because of the separate network it's easier for you wireless engineer to control his network and add access points to it so they can monitor/control wireless devices remotely. Adding acces points to a Dante network can be tricky (if you don't correctly setup the the port configuration in the switch for that acces point).

@@MONOSoundLab thanks for the reply..having a 3rd network for shure control, will the CL still be able to "read" the info from shure receivers?

@@stratosFZ1 No worries! Yes it will! The important thing is here that you make sure your Shure Control network and your Yamaha 'For Device Control' is in the same IP range. If that's the case you can see all the receiver info on the Yamaha and control that receiver from the desk. That's exactly what we did in the video.
And again: thank you for the remark, because the way you do it, is indeed more straightforward and easier for normal setups.
