Indeed! Just like Google has been trying to prevent AD blockers on RUclips that SO many of us have installed and USE daily! I CANNOT stand the ADS and will NEVER pay for their "premium" service when I can simply install an extension for FREE that removes all the BS! To Google, it's BILLIONS of dollars LOST in revenue because WE BLOCK the BS and have become just a GREEDY milk/track the living fu@k out of everyone company anymore!
I mean. I don’t see this as a huge deal. I don’t use versions of apps that exist on the play store anyway tbh. As long as they don’t block side loading apps from third party apps that don’t exist on the play store. I’m good.
@@definitelynotchadfish They already remove third-party apps, using Google Play Protect. Apps that you would not find on Google Play, anyway. Well, actually they just remove the shortcuts. The app is actually still there, you just can't get to it, until you reinstall it.
Doesnt matter the version. If the app has codes that ask for google api that means you CANT USE IT. If app developer implement this you out of luck. The only escape are moded apps. Unfortunately Netflix for instance cant be moded.

Are you using downloader with a VPN ? can you try and turn that off and see if it connects ? Also, check to see if there is an update available to downloader in the app store

This reminds me of the tactics Directv used before the ‘Black Sunday’ event that permanently ended unauthorized user’s access. They kept closing more and more work arounds until everyone was using the last available option and then they killed that on Super Bowl Sunday. Google will eventually send out a firmware update using a license or other validity checkup that stops all unauthorized third party apps from working. If you block firmware updates (aka jailbreaking’ the OS) that will brick your box. All of this will be written in the user license agreement to keep anyone from trying to start any legal action against them (Google or Google related entities). I foresee a run on ‘pre-Vega OS’ Firesticks or a two-tier market: those who don’t know/want third party apps will buy the Google streaming player and those who want the freedom to side-load. Let the games begin.

Go to privacy settings and turn off Google protect settings off and you can sideload that protect settings is to protect you from malware or other viruses
You also have to allow permissions on all third party apps !! Settings apps then go to each app and make sure they are on and uncheck remove if app is not used !!!
