Awesome news on restoring the 3372!!!! Back in the early 70's in my high school days & rail fanning weekends. I remember when these units first arrived. They replaced the EL E-8's / GP-7's and old Erie Stillwell commuter coaches that ran up to Port Jervis. The summer of 74 were the late run of the E-8's.
I really hope you guys restoring 3372 have ideas to ask a few museums and the morristown and erie that have comet 1 coaches to borrow them, re paint them to their original erie paint scheme and do fantrips as I wouldent be the only one who would fork over a LOT of cash to see that
How long did it take Lackawanna to build the cut-off from scratch? NJ Transit can't get 6 miles done on a right of way that's already there. I give Chuck Walsh a lot of credit for remaining so optimistic. I rode the cut-off many times under DL&W and EL. I can't believe what's happened to it.
I remember when these locomotives were new and the push/pulls started appearing on the EL line between Hoboken and Dover. Now it's an antique being restored. Amazing. Best of luck with you project.
Never got to see these run but i run them on train simulator classic both the NJT and Erie Lackawanna versions this locomotive and the comet I literally changed commuter rail here in Jersey just like the Arrows
I remember for 1 year this train was in the Guinness book of records as the most powerful passenger locomotive in the world. This train thundered past the station. People who never saw it run dont realize how big and powerful this engine was.

I bet it's gonna be done before they open up the Cut Off.
FMW Solutions should rebuild the cutoff.
Probably. It won’t open till at least 2024-2025.
I think you're right. 10 years and nothing done! Unbelievable!

Congratulations
Here’s to it!
How can I see this engine in person?
