Griffin

The noble Griffin leaning on a felled tree. I know a lot of people use the bald eagle, but the Griffin was not a north American beast, it was Greek. So, I looked up some Greek eagles to see how their feather colorations and patterns looked. I also chose to make it looked like it had only feathers and no lion fur, even though it has a lion body shape.

This illustration was done in about 3 hours. Penciled with 2H drafting pencil, inked with Higgin's Waterproof ink with an ink wash for black and white gray tone on 11" x 14" Strathmore Bristol.

I will eventually make a TTRPG from all this, it's why I'm illustrating it all. I'm trying to get away from the Tumblr/Twitter TTRPG look and bring it back to mythology and fairy tales. I'm glad you like it.
