Good idea with the flooring on the tank though I would say it may blow or come of when things warm up. It expands a great deal which I found out when I lined the inside of a crew cab compartment on a work van. Soon a s summer came it was all lifting as the glue couldn't accommodate the amount of expansion. That's a very spacious vaen you have mate.
As an interesting aside - in relation to fish you are almost always better off buying frozen fish. If you live on the coast, I can get fish from day boats that would be the best in that the boats go out in the morning. Come back in the evening or whatever the ties do therefore your fish is one day old. However, let’s say you’re buying fish that’s come from a trawler from a slightly larger port-they will go out on a Monday spend maybe four or 5/6 days out until they’ve caught enough fish to make the trip worthwhile-the fish will be kept on board iced up and landed, maybe day six. At that point it’s purchased via agents for various companies transported to the factories at which stage it becomes zero days owed according to the food regulations - when processed for let’s say Morrisons it’s then permitted to have +4+5 they put on it it’s chilled and transported to the supermarket maybe 1011 or 12 days old. Morrison Seaba and Sebring comes from Turkey or Greece killed on mass at a certain weight transported Overland takes about 3 to 4 days arrives at the suppliers and stays there until sold Fish that is Court far out at sea by the factory ships is frozen within two hours. It’s defrosted for supply to supermarkets so really it’s only about six hours old when it’s processed and sent to said supermarkets. Morris has take only fresh fish as they take only frozen fish. What would you rather have? 12 day old? Fresh fish or six hours? Old? Defrosted fish? Interesting that’s the interesting question regards Mel love the channel have done for many years. 👍
Mel.Sat in front of the wood burner burning scrap pallets the insulation on the tank really tidiede it up looks good by the way the meal looked lush i would have eaten straight out of the pan.Roger.
I think the eggs in the skillet would also have been better if you put on a plate instead of leaving in the skillet because it maintains its heat and therefore overcooks them
Mel ...I love your vids mate ..They are slightly informative they are slightly amusing ;-) But i have to say ...Red and Green sh1t lmao then you cleaned the sweet chilie like lmfao...😂 how long have you exactly been cleaning Red Sh1t ! Lol ..mate i love your vids
Great video Mel, might be healthy cooking but it seemed pretty tasty to me. Didn’t you used to have an oven that sat on top of the wood stove? Looks ace does that stove. Boiled egg pan definitely a clean pan 👍
I didn’t know homebaae was going :( like the floor mats. I wish I bought that wood stove years ago still like to fit a wood burner in my van 😊 That looked super dodgy when you was wiping that pepper 😂 😂 Il bring my plate 😊
Cood night Becky and Mel i love watching your you tube videos on your you tube channels I hope both of you are well and Mel are you enjoying your conversion building your new camper van please say hello to Becky for me and please both of you keep safe and warm and please keep up your good work on you tube channel
Only just found your vids, 👍 totally with you on the keto based diet, we’ve been on it a year and it’s transformed our lives, for your skillet you need to season it, not clean it, it takes time to get it right but worth the effort. Eggs in butter 🤤 crispy round the edges and runny yoke. Keep up the good work mucka
Hi Mel, Yes to washing the pan after boiling eggs; why? I hear you say…the eggs have came out a chicken 🐓 bacteria on shell + in the water + on the insides of the pan! 🤢🏴
Thanks a ton! Yeah, having the water tank not under the van makes things way easier to fix if something goes wrong. Plus it is over 200KG so i didn't fancy that hanging under the van
Hi Mel we got a auto sleeper nuevo with a Sargent Es328 charger in the wardrobe, Sargent sell a solar 4 pin connector for a solar panel with mc4 connectors and the only solar panel which will fit on the roof is a renogy panel 100wh are all mc4 connectors the same, so will the renogy connect to the Sargent leads. Cheers Sean. Love the vids you do
I just wish you had used 2 full tiles on the face, the pattern just runs off and it would have looked even better, a small detail but if it’s worth doing etc etc 😊
In order to keep condensation out of your cold watertank, you need an insulation that has a high damp resistance, even the smalest gap will let through damp, armaflex is made to fulfill these conditions. It is a dampbarrier and used a lot in airco insulations.
What was that ticking in the background? Oh was a water drip , I thought it was diesel heater , as I’ve been told the cheap ones tick , I’m getting an auto term heater fitted other RUclipsrs say they are quiet 🤷🏻♂️
Can I just say Mel all the van lifers out there always do videos on building the inside of the van or solar or electrics etc no one ever talks about the engine suspension brakes gearbox with out a good engine your going nowhere 👍😊
A little confused here. Why are you going backwards and using leisure batteries? What happened to the Bluettie 200 Max? Let alone all the other power banks you have.
You know what they say, sometimes you have to take a step back to leap forward! The leisure batteries are just part of my ongoing experiment in power management. Stay tuned for the next episode of "Power Bank Wars!"
Mel i ant really into cooking vids but you have taken it to the next level ,infact my miss has just said you will have to try that,
Now I like the vids again, Mel being Mel. just how it should be. Don't change a running system. lovin the progress.
I'm so glad to hear that! Keeping it real is what it's all about. Thanks for being a part of the journey with Me
👍they say oil for cooking butter for flavor

Great video, mel. best way is low carbohydrates high in protein 👍👌
Back to camper stuff no drama 💪
Drama-free zone activated! Time to pitch those tents and leave the soap operas behind!
If your worried about poison in your foods- get rid of the teflon and non stick finishes ;)
Hi Mel, down south homebase went into administration two years ago we don’t actually have one and haven’t done for two years
That ticking from the stove fan is as bad as a diesel heater 😂. You could probably do with tightening the screws up.

Use them for many areas as there closed cell foam, waterproof 👍

Might start watching this channel again, nice video Mel.
Awesome! Glad you liked the video! Hoping to see you around more often! 🎉
Looks a good idea mate 😊 love the vid 👍👍👍
I think the eggs in the skillet would also have been better if you put on a plate instead of leaving in the skillet because it maintains its heat and therefore overcooks them
You should start another channel and and call it "Healthy Campervan Cooking with Mel" 😀
Brilliant highly entertaining and very informative video ❤❤❤ xx
Thank you my love 😂🤓👍
Appreciate the compliment! I aim for a mix of fun and facts-like a brainy smoothie, but without the weird taste!

Coal or BBQ briquettes stay hot a long long time, had one of these in my shed once,so toasty 👍
Sounds like your shed was the ultimate cozy retreat! Who knew coal could double as a comfort item?
@ it was, coal took me back to being a kid, coal fire family and peace, smokeless zones everywhere now
It's amazing how certain memories can transport us back in time. Coal fires definitely bring a sense of nostalgia and warmth!
@ and actually toasting the best toast or crumpets,we used the big meat fork, only time it was used 🤣🤣🤣

"Red and green shit?"yep you've sold it to me where do I sign?😂😂😂
Love your videos, they are interesting and very helpful.
I am wondering are there is any advantages of your water tank not being under the van ?
Thanks a ton! Yeah, having the water tank not under the van makes things way easier to fix if something goes wrong. Plus it is over 200KG so i didn't fancy that hanging under the van
Wonder could you use sticky back Velcro strips to fix your insulation to the water tank making removing it easier if you had to.
Mel stick the frying pan into the stove to heat it right up then crack your eggs in it thats what I do on the boat lol
That sounds like a great way to make breakfast on the boat! Nothing beats fresh eggs in the morning.
@BigVanSmallWorld yeah I fry the bacon on the top along with a tomato and beans then pop the pan in the stove get it nice n hot then crack the egg in
There won't be any condensation on the top of the tank, as the water level will be below it. So no need to stick the foam on there
Now this is Mel.. in his natural habitat doing stuff! Looking happy. Nice 👌🏼 also where was my invite to dinner 😂❤
living my best life, and I clearly need to step up my dinner game! Next time, I’ll send out the invites with a side of dessert!😋

Hi Sean yes all MC4 connectors are the same size
I just wish you had used 2 full tiles on the face, the pattern just runs off and it would have looked even better, a small detail but if it’s worth doing etc etc 😊
Thanks for the tip!
Reading comments....think troll of the week need to come back mel...???????????????????.
Should you put the batteries a bit higher than the water tank, just in case there is a leak ?
Thank you for bringing up such an important point! It's always better to be safe than sorry when it comes to installations.
Cut the best bit of the asparagus off 😭😭😭😭😭great video
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed the video and the asparagus tips!
The angle of the hose… if the van is tilted to the right, it will be difficult to fill.
You're absolutely right! The angle of the hose can definitely affect how efficiently the van fills up. Thanks for pointing that out!
is becky on a sea food diet too.?
Well, if Becky’s on a seafood diet, she’s fishing for compliments too!
Armaflex would have been a better choice in my opinion.
I appreciate your input! Armaflex definitely has its advantages, and it's always good to explore different options for the best results.
In order to keep condensation out of your cold watertank, you need an insulation that has a high damp resistance, even the smalest gap will let through damp, armaflex is made to fulfill these conditions. It is a dampbarrier and used a lot in airco insulations.

water dripping from gutter i was gutted when i realised how loud it was on camera next time it's raining i'll use a different mic
Can I just say Mel all the van lifers out there always do videos on building the inside of the van or solar or electrics etc no one ever talks about the engine suspension brakes gearbox with out a good engine your going nowhere
👍😊
You’re right! While everyone’s busy crafting the perfect bed, they might forget that the engine is what actually gets them to the next adventure!
I have two of the grizzly cubics …very nice. I took the rails off and cook on it too.
So you’ve turned your grizzly cubic into a culinary powerhouse? I guess you could say you’re really “grilling” it!
A little confused here. Why are you going backwards and using leisure batteries? What happened to the Bluettie 200 Max? Let alone all the other power banks you have.

@@BigVanSmallWorld I'll be waiting eagerly mate!
What is that a
Anoying sound
That annoying water drip noise ruined the video. 👎
Ugh, right?! That drip was super annoying! I’ll try to keep things quieter next time. Thanks for watching!
