We have this in our crafter. Just make sure you keep door pulled across for a good while after shower as can get a spot of mildew if door is rolled back damp.
I think I would have put some sealant between the joints of the frame Mel, when the water runs into the lower channel it will leak out of the ends. Also I think screwing it into position was the best idea
Yup that is what I call a good job. The next thing I would be looking for is a specialist shower head that cuts the flow rate in half but still wets you. 40 min shower is even better than a 20 min shower ;-) ( I saw a shower head on a Boat channel than had an inbuild impellor that did just that )
Hi Mel , Great door I think I will be going down that road with my van , one thing for the life of me I cant understand why you didn't screw it into place lol, good to see you back on the build, ok that will teach me to watch the whole video before I leave a comment pmsl
You might regret not having a fan in there mate. Your maxxfan will work as long as theres through air in the cubical, but with no vent to draw air in, its not gonna vent well. Maxxfan extractors can be mounted on the side of vans too as they have a weather guard.
Nice job. My shower has a top half that is set on rails, a geared motor raises it to have a shower, and lowers it when not in use to provide a more open feel, letting in more light and also providing a table top when down. This is positioned where i removed the bulkhead. My toilet is on the opposite side with a walkway in between, so I still have access to the cab with a gap between the shower and loo. The floor in this gap I have built all the plumbing and pump etc. There are 2 sliding doors for privacy. Here is the plan. A switch opens a solenoid and the pump draws water from my clean tank, thru the gas boiler and into the shower. Have a quick soap and rinse, the water draining thru the plug hole is automatically pumped to the waste tank. I then manually close the plug hole with a sliding plug, flip another switch which opens a 2nd solenoid which then draws water from a 10L tank set in the gap and this water is pumped thru the boiler to the shower, the drain area fills and this water is is pumped back the the 10L tank. I can recirculate this and stand in the shower as long as like without emptying my main fresh tank too quickly.
Mel, I don't usually comment but I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed this video. Absolutely love the shower and door. Disappointed the door wasn't see through lol 😅😂😊
Cap off lengths of 6 inch diameter PVC and mount them on your roof. When you arrive to your destination pump water up to them. Run a line to the shower head. Solar hot water on those sunny days. (black or paint the tubes black) No need to run the engine.
i intend to screw mine just to give it that little extra purchase against the frame as i think the opening and shutting over time would cause it to move along with the vibration while driving after all the roads in the uk are shocking and in some areas resemble off road tracks, your vans looking really nice now ps checkout their fly screens too
I would personally go with what the manufacturer said and screw it in. They mention that for a reason possibly if you want to change something with it it'll be much harder and more than likely it would bend the frame if you try to move it after gluing it. Another thing I'd put an exhaust fan going out the side of your shower a small one. I doubt if that Max fan will actually be able to take out all the condensation that's going to be in that shower, easy way for mold to grow. Maybe that's the reason why they say to screw in that door, just in case you have the clean it because of mold. But no matter what you do, the van is looking great! Frank------Alberta, Canada
Absolutely love it so beautiful to have a full size shower in a campervan. Wish I did. Love the door looks amazing 😊 so happy for you to finally have your dream campervan 💙
Screw and Glue Mel. !! Not sure if this system is the same as an household screen but you NEVER silicone the inside only the outside, as any water that gets in will leak to the outside.!!
What have you covered your shower walls in Mel? You can also buy a side mounted fan, a Maxxfan Dome, I've one on my Sprinter I've had a Roldoor for about 2 years now and the main bit has just started jumping out of the tracking when closing, looks like the spring / tension needs looking at
If it were me I would close the door after showering and let the material drain and then dry out. With it rolled up in that cassette you will likely get mould build up.
Good night Becky and Mel i love watching your you tube channels ihope that both of you are well and Mel wheres Becky tonight I hope that you are enjoying your conversion on your new camper van please both of you stay safe and warm please keep up on your good work on your you tube channels please say hello to Becky for me Cheers both of you
Love that shower screen would love to fit it in our on suite shower in our house my wife doesn’t like the bifold door we currently have. The only issue I see is that after a shower that screen door will get wet plus covered with shampoo etc when opened moisture will be trapped inside the mechanism would that become an issue regarding mould etc what do you think.
Hi Mell. Just a Quick Question, to re seal my Roof vent in our Talbot Express, Should I use C.T1, or, Would SikaFlex 522 be Ok For The Job? Cheers from Jeff.
Hi Mel, presuming /hoping the glued in door frame to the shower won’t bend when van is moving .Glad you ve managed too get back to the van build 👍🏴after everything that’s happened. Fab job 👋🏴
Thanks for your concern! I'm really hopeful that the door frame holds up during our travels. It's been a journey getting back to the van build, and I'm excited to share more updates with you!

This was my first thought. Good to know leaving it open is enough 👍
Hi Mel. I think you should fit a black vent at the top of the frame as it looks odd with the gap to the ceiling.
A 20 minute shower?!?! What are you doing in there?? 😂 That door does look great!! Luxurious indeed!
I think I would have put some sealant between the joints of the frame Mel, when the water runs into the lower channel it will leak out of the ends.
Also I think screwing it into position was the best idea
Top job Mel, they pay hundreds for a shower to be fitted . You make it look easy and self explanatory. Well impressed. Take care you two be lucky.😊
Wow, thank you

That's cracking mate 👍 its coming together beautifully
700m wide shower Mel? Thats a big bugger! Glad to see you are back on the build.

I've just done a full shower in my 2021 ford Luton, we bought an accordion door, it works well, our shower head has an on/off button to save water 😁🤘
YAY. Back to the build.
Brilliant video as ever. You deserve it after what you have both been through. Looking forward to the final tour, crack on!
Thank you 🙏
I’ve gone for it and ordered one. I’ve used the code thanks.
I’ll put the fitting of it up on my channel when it comes 😁
That's awesome! Can't wait to see how it turns out on your channel. Best of luck with the fitting!
@ lol yeah I’ll do what I usually do and make it up as I go along
I didn’t think I’d like it. But I quite like that. Might get one instead of the tambour door. 👍
I have seen a lot of doors on showers and i think thats the best door i seen great job 👍
Thanks 👍
That's a neat solution. I used a bi-fold track design for wardrobes but am forever forgetting to anchor them back for driving.
happy for you, nearly there

Good to see you back on the van again! Those rol dour screens are great. Have had one before
Thanks for the warm welcome! I'm really glad to be back on the van and sharing my experiences
Nice job.

Love that shower door
Mel, I don't usually comment but I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed this video. Absolutely love the shower and door. Disappointed the door wasn't see through lol 😅😂😊
I would varnish the would if you don't like it you cam always paint over it in the future. 👍
Great little job , 20 mins hot water is loads of time , 👍
Hells teeth Mel - 700 metres wide ! Got to be the world's biggest.

Love the shower scene ❤❤❤
Thank you kindly 🥰👍
Wow Mel that certainly is a big shower at 1m x 700m like you said, great looking door, all the best to you and Becky, #1
Thanks buddy and the same to you too 🫶👍
You nearly made us blush! 💦 But great job on the shower, it really does look fabulous 👌
Aww, thanks! I had a blast doing it-so happy you think it looks awesome! I,ll try harder next time ☺

great vid on the build thanks for share
No problem 👍
100% should add screws in the sides and bottom and a small extractor in there somewhere
Looks fantastic. 20 minute for a shower. What do you do. 5 mins is all you need 😂
I’m so pleased they haven’t developed smelly vision yet, especially as this is your first shower 😉
True, but I’d like to think my first shower was a blockbuster hit-just without the smell-o-vision sequel!
@ true, they always spoil it with a sequel … However! … it could be even more steamy !! 😳🤣
Brilliant mate
Great video Mel 👍
Thank you 😁

20 minute shower!? 😂😂 Damn that will be 100 + litres. of water...actually i think shurflo flow rate is around 10lpm 🤔 😅. Shower looks great tho 👌
Good stuff mel at least you are clean at last😂😂😂
700 meter wide ! You eat all the pies mel 😂😂😂
I do love a fry bentos pie 🥧 🤣👍
The doors like a flyscreen Mel.
Great job👍
Love that shower screen would love to fit it in our on suite shower in our house my wife doesn’t like the bifold door we currently have. Don't fall into it after a few beers Mel🤣
It's a movie screen, win win. Gap is towel rail.
Haha, right? Who knew you could get cozy with a towel and a movie at the same time!
Hi Mell. Just a Quick Question, to re seal my Roof vent in our Talbot Express, Should I use C.T1, or, Would SikaFlex 522 be Ok For The Job? Cheers from Jeff.
Cloud chambers
Hi Mel. What car reader do you use? I need to get one but there are so many to choose from
I can't find your video whete you were using yours
Mel what was the cost off that lovely looking door 👍
Hmmm it might be a tight squeeze for both of you in the shower, but you could always use some soap.
Not traumatised at all Mel 😱🤣🏴Jan
Haha, right? Just gotta laugh it off and keep moving!
Which water pump did you use for the shower?
here you go amzn.to/4ibBzMx
Are the drain holes at the top?
No
Mel, since you moved premises has your subscribers gone up.
❤
Hi Mel, did you ever consider a Tambour door ?
Hey! I haven't really thought about a Tambour door, but it sounds like an interesting option. Thanks for the suggestion!
💦
Paint the wood black
700M wide? What have you got! A Tardis? 🤣
As long as you don't stumble or fall into it.....
Hi Mel, presuming /hoping the glued in door frame to the shower won’t bend when van is moving .Glad you ve managed too get back to the van build 👍🏴after everything that’s happened. Fab job 👋🏴

Not that revolutionary I’ve had a sliding door shower room in my Merc truck since 2001
Follow instructions and screw it in place, your van will flex in travel, even very slightly will be enough in time for door movement
Vh screw it mel
Screw it
I think you should screw it
Screw it, less mess if you have to alter it, then perhaps a nice sealant bead all round
