Val was a real surprise for me. I think most of us expected her to be the stereotypical popular mean girl, but Val was genuinely a nice person who looked out for Riley

Me too, plus at this point in time, that trope has been done to death so this is a nice change of pace.
Watching only the trailers i got vibes that Val was def betraying Riley at some point, but it was a nice surprise that she stayed a good friend til the end, no weird twists or anything. The friend becoming a enemy is something done millions of times in movies already.
Val turned out to be a really supportive and understanding friend for Riley to hang out with. I’m impressed.
Val's name sounds Russian: Valentina.
Why I think it sounds Russian is because of a noteworthy Russian Cosmonaut I read about. Valentina Tereshkova.

Can be used in Russian names, but you usually see someone in the Latino, Hispanic, and even the Italian communities with the name ^_^

I’m SOO happy they didn’t turn her into a mean girl or a just a straight up bully. It makes Riley’s lesson even more powerful in my opinion. Because sometimes it’s easier to walk away from bad people when they show their true colours, but it is a lot harder to swallow the fact that you can possibly let down someone who’s nice and that you look up to. Riley’s struggle is more real and speaks to me in such a personal way.

The first time I saw Val, I like her but I don’t trust her. But now after I saw the movie, she’s a really good friend to Riley even after Riley’s two friends Grace and Bree moved to a new high school. The ending was really happy for me because Riley now hangs out her new friends: Val and the rest of the FireHawks but still keeps in touch with her two friends: Grace and Bree. Really puts a smile on my face.
Lucky Riley didn’t feel angry without breaking her new friendship with Grace and Bree, unlike Meg from the first Inside Out movie. Glad, she’s not alone.
@@dr92hmc99X We don't know if she spoke to Meg again after the first movie, you can get angry with your friend it doesn't mean it will last forever. I wish there was at least a small post-credit scene where she texted or phoned Meg.

I have a fanart idea that popped up in my head: Val and Riley at the rollout ceremony.
That was actually one of the reasons why I didn’t trust Val at first because her design sadly reminded me of Chelsea with her hairstyle. I knew Chelsea was evil when I saw the trailer for RGTK, but ever since I saw her reveal herself as a backstabber, I was worried Val was going to do the same thing to Riley but I’m glad she didn’t.
At least Val doesn’t try to make mermaids look bad.

I was very relieved that Val wasn’t the “tough girl” type or “the bully,” she just loves hockey and really wants to see Riley be just as good a player as she is.
We already have the bully in both Ercole from _Luca_ (who didn’t reform) and Tyler from _Turning Red_ (who did), so Val being more of the supportive big sister type to Riley was great to see.
Granted that Ercole was 16 in Luca, and Tyler was around 13-15 in Turning Red!
Seeing as how Val is 18, I’d like think that she’s more matured than the both of them combined!
It's so cool that Val turned out to be a genuinely friendly, hlpful, supportive, good person. We need more people like her

i was really expecting the worst for Val and once I watched the movie I as super impressed with how different she was. She really was like an other sister for Riley and those are best relationships because friends like that look out for each other
I like Val but I never really liked the rest of the firehawks. Idk they just kept pressuring Riley and they underestimates her... At least Val already sees potential in Riley unlike them

Val turned out to be pretty cool and friendly and I’m glad that she and Riley ended up being friends in the end
I had a completely different idea about the movie, now this is a very cliché story plot:
A normally unpopular kid somehow gets in with a popular crowd and leave their friends, but then they find out that the new crowd aren’t all what they seem and they turn out to be jerks, and then the kid realizes that they were wrong for ditching their old friends and that they were being a jerk themselves and return to their old group
Everything you said is true. Plus I think it's safe to say that Val surprised us all in a good way

Most likely. So far, every set of emotions resemble their hosts (for example, Riley's mom's emotions have brown hair and wear red-frammed glasses like her while her dad's emotions have moustache like him) with the exception of Riley to make her stand out.
