I've been playing guitar for almost 40 years. I've played many different types and brands of guitars. I've been fortunate to have worked for Westwood Music as a salesman under the tutelage of the legendary Fred Walecki. It was here that I was introduced to the incredible Versoul Guitars brand and the sole builder of the guitars, Kari Nieminen. I have personally played at least 2 dozen electric and acoustic models. These guitars are among the finest guitars ever built. The build quality is as good as it gets anywhere, and they sound and play fantastic.

Just noticed this thread. Naturally A) A fully free world... B) everyone can and has his/her own individual taste in shapes/styles of guitars C) we all can decide to purchase or play as vintage/trad or funky futuristic or strange looking guitars we wish, D) and as cheap or expensive guitars as we wish and can: A few trol... (ups sorry, wrong planet): "comments" below considering the sound, sustain and playability of Versoul guitars do not reflect the reality of these amazing instruments, at all. Far from it. I would love to think that the reason for them is not that someone does not have sufficient daily targets to troll about, or some competitor of Versoul's started losing their hair (hopefully not). If trolling/negativity makes your day, that is totally cool too, but will not make one a better guitarist, or a happier human being. 2) But: to get back to the main matter here: the SONIC PERFORMANCE: It is a fact that Versouls are played by leading professional master guitarists, worldwide, such as Michael Landau, Allan Holdsworth (RIP, voted as the BEST guitar player in the world by Guitar Player magazine for.. years), Bernie Leadon, Tim Pierce, jazz guitarist Kenny Burrell, Pete Townsend, Roger Daltrey, Ronnie Wood (has 14), Billy Gibbons (has 6), Henry Kaiser etc. Furthermore, their sonic quality is well known and respected among the guitar technicians of these top performers. Above people have bought the guitars for the sake of the sound and playability and yep, maybe for their funky quirky hybrid interesting looks, which you can like or not like. These people could buy anything they want, but they have chosen Versoul instruments. The guitars, when inspected closeby, reveal a pianolike clang/sustain, as well as impeccable attention to detail. Nieminen is a zenmaster guitar builder, who is also a well known industrial designer. And yes, they are not inexpensive. If you wish for that, there is always a Squier Affinity series (nothing against them either, suit for beginners). I have tested dozens of his models and they are absolutely amazing, not that my word matters. Those in doubt, feel free to contact Kari straigh tahead, chat with him and ask where you can test his guitars with a good amp. He is a great easy going positive person, one of the nicest people I have ever met in music business (I have been in NAMM, worked in music stores/studios myself in NYC). Good to concentrate on positive vibes, creation of music, not doubts and negativity, especially relating to things one does not have first hand knowledge of. If you dont like the looks, totally groovy, free world, tens of thousands of guitars there, big wide world, but its not constructive or meaningful to troll about the sound, based on a short quick demo.

Interesting! Like a cross between a Music Man Albert Lee and one of those funky 1960s Japanese thingys. Very cool!

Very interesting acoustic. Would enjoy hearing Ralph Towner get ahold of that one.

It's absolutely ASTOUNDING how few people showing off guitars can actually play. There really was nobody else available to play it? Jesus.

6:10 can't hear the luthier because the interviewer interrupts, and his voice is off mic too. This ocurrs in other videos too. Dont interrupt your guests!

The 12-string would sound perfect if it had more Mids. I mostly heard good Bass & Treble tones. Good resonance though

    While scavenging in Fallout 3.

Is it just me, or does the electric look a bit shoddily made? It doesn't seem to have the accuracy, attention to detail and finish of a high quality instrument and sounded a bit thin and cheap too. Shame as I think the overall design is excellent and original.

Paul Beardow The pickup routes look as if they could be tighter. Doesn't look like an easy build.

Looks great, sounds dead. Maybe it comes alive when the amp is cranked but I wouldn't pay 10‰ of the asking price on the basis of the sounds here. Make that 5%.

Golden crap guitar. Design failed esthetics. For those who have everything; $ 18000.

still good enough for ronnie wood to have 14 and reverend gibbons to have 6, so, obviously not that bad

Ronnie Wood seems to enjoy show guitars. I love the look of this (cept for the headstock), but the dull foil-coil tone isn't special to my ears.
