I think this is still the best fight in the franchise. Everything was taken into account here, the music, the divine choreography, the kung fu fight, the emotional intensity between Shifu and Tai Lung, the character of both characters is shown in their fighting style, this battle was essentially their dialogue where the arguments were strong words and strong attacks. The atmosphere of the scene itself is generally the peak, 2:27 this is just 10/10, I had already forgotten about such a thunderstorm since everywhere it is shown with a shade of cold blue and rain, but here there is a dry thunderstorm with wind and a black dark gray sky, which simply brings much more horror from what is happening.
I see your point however, he wasnt truly evil. He was only hurt after being denied his destiny that he worked so hard for. Shen on the other hand, has blood on his hands. Like he actually killed his own parents to take the throne. He has the most kill count in all 4 movies. Best part he never used kung fu to kill.
Watching kung fu panda 4 and seeing tai lung in the spirit realm , hes like a whole new person. Id just wish that the 4th movie would have been more epic like this. Its a shame we barely saw any fighting at all

It's insane how Tai Lung was on offense the whole time, and any counter attack shifu could muster, was quickly snuffed out by Tai Lung in a matter of seconds. shifu would never really want to hurt his "son" obviously, and kung fu isn't about hurting the other person. but the difference in capabilities is so very clear here I feel. if Po wasn't the dragon warrior, Tai Lung would probably be the scariest thing china has.
It's not that Shifu was weaker as he taught Tai Lung everything so he was actually stronger, for example Shifu knew the Wuxi Finger Hold & he never taught Tai Lung that. But the problem with the situation is that Shifu cannot use the Wuxi Finger Hold on Tai Lung or even fight Tai Lung properly because he view's him as his son. He holds back too much out of concern for him, because he loves him too much to end him. Shifu knows how important it is to end Tai Lung due to how dangerous he became as a result of forgetting to temper his pride, but love is not so easy to break & can be dangerous if you choose to cling to the wrong people.
The most heartbreaking part about this scene in the first Kung Fu Panda movie is that Master Shifu and Tai Lung once had a father and son like relationship before the latter became fueled with death and vengeance. Especially with how Tai Lung was once like a son to Master Shifu and even how Shifu himself was like a father to Tai Lung as well.
