Dear Clark I recently discovered your beautiful channel. Thanks a bunch for putting up effort in these very informative yet easy to understand videos! Hope to see you in waters 🎉
When in a hurry I cheat and put a 2 inch long strip of marine heat shrink tubing where I'm going to cut the rope, heat it to shrink the tubing/activate the marine adhesive and then cut the middle of the tubing along with the rope in two pieces. You can used colored tubing to encode the bitter ends. Best!
Burning it may be "the landlubber way", but it's effective and much faster, though you must avoid burning your fingers on the melted synthetic fibre. That's easily done, though, with a glove or other material.
Nicely done. It’s the simple things like this that really shows someone who’s experienced.
I like it. I got my bank manager a couple of days ago. Thanks for the quick delivery.
Glad you got it. When do you plan to install it?
@@Clarks-Adventure I'm doing a bare hull refit of a C-25. If all goes to plan I will have the electrical system working some time in 2024.
Absolutely! Do all my lines that way.
Cheers!
Don't you hate to see burnt ends or worse tape?
Love these guys. Hope to meet you one day. In Georgetown now and you were mentioned on the morning net. Legends

Neat! 👌🏽

Instead of burning, some scotch tape (the one that electricians use) would be helpful for a while too before it's done in a sailor way.
Maybe I'm doing it wrong. This works for me for about 18 months, following which I need to do it again.
Does the line break or does the thing unravel?
@@Clarks-Adventure I think it usually unravels.
Bury the cross evenly. If it's three strand make sure the cross is over a "bump"
And wind it tighter!
Do it once by melting it. Much easier and faster. Let the purists scoff while you enjoy another drink at the bar.
Melts are sharp in my experience.
👍!!!
Thank you for the tip. I shall take that on board. Pun intended. :-)
