    0:39 as a former pogo whale let’s be real Pokémon go pvp is at least 90% alignment oriented with most battles being determined by who has the winning type matchup in the lead slot, only really deviating when both lead mons are neutral towards each other and even at that point it’s basically down to coin tossing from deciding if you take a shield bait or not at higher play.

      You can handle bad leads though

      @@maganhassan2627 I mean if your opponent doesn’t have a counter swap for your switch sure but if they do it’s basically gg. I’m saying this as someone who not only hit legend multiple times but even won a local tournament back when silph cups were the only option for serious play. Sure it’s cool and all to be able to play out the “wanting to be the very best like no one ever was” irl but Pokémon go pvp doesn’t have anywhere near the substance that the mainline games have when it comes to being a competitive esport.

      @hexbug101 1. if you manage your energy, shields, swaps & timing then there's still a way to win sometimes I see matches where you unexpectedly win even by THAT close 🤷‍♂️🤔
      2. While pokemon go's pvp battle system could improve further it doesn't need to be exactly like the main series games I still think at least for now is fine as an esport it does have a dedicated fanbase with new players joining in. Do you still play pokemon go even pvp? Just wondering 🤔

      @@maganhassan2627 while I haven’t really been playing the PvP, except the occasional battle day participation or messing around with dumb teams (an example being I tried to see how long it would take to get a win with deoxys attack, smeargle, and shuckle) I have been casually been playing since I stopped playing hardcore. The scenario you described can happen, but it’s extremely rare (unless it’s due to lag which happens way to commonly) to where it’s moreso an anomaly than anything. I will admit there’s some skill involved in neutral matchups, but if you lead swampert into Venusaur than swap in registeel to be met with medicham there’s pretty much no way you’re winning that, and I don’t feel a game where something like that can happen and invalidate the match before it even begins is esport material. There’s such an easy fix for this too, just have it be the bring 6 pick 3 like is used in tournaments, that immediately adds another entire level of skill and significantly reduces the amount of luck going into things.

    I am confused, how does this work? Seems this not traditional pokemon battle

    • @Fiyaaaahh
      @Fiyaaaahh 4 месяца назад

      It's not a traditional pokemon battle because this is Pokemon GO and not a Nintendo game. The moves are translated into fast moves (which generate energy) and charge moves (which cost energy but deal a lot more damage) and you only get 1 fast move and 2 charge moves per pokemon. Moreover, there is no difference between special attacks and normal attacks and pokemon have no abilities. So although based on pokemon, due to the the mechanics changes that have been made to simplify the game it's completely different.

    Seriously can this junk not be shunted to its own channel?
    Cos most fans are just here for the game and anime stuff, not to have their subscriptions feed flooded with tournament drivel.
