This album was one of those rare times when a band was ready to go right out of the gate and changed the world of music as we know it. Solid from start to finish. Would definitely be in my top 3 Zeppelin albums.

The Shaggs' debut _is_ a masterpiece, don't lie to us!
Speaking seriously, though I'd personally put _Led Zeppelin II_ above it, both it and Led Zeppelin's debut are very close together in quality. I consider them to be like a double album since they both came out in the same year.

Led Zeppelin was released on January 12, 1969 and peaked at # 10 on the Billboard charts and has went 8 x platinum since it's debut...I think it is the Greatest debut album of alltime

I love every song, this will remain in my top 10 albums of all time. Dazed and Confused, Babe I'm Gonna Leave You, How Many More Times are my favorite tracks. Thank you!

Agree with most of what you said. It is one of the best, if not the best, debut album of all times. (The "competitors" I can think of at the moment are "Mountain" - "Climbing" and "Sir Lord Baltimore"). The album knocked me over completely the first time I heard it... and it still does. I don't think there is an album I have listened to more times than this... and I never get tired of it. Dazed and confused gives me the chill every time I listen to it. The sound quality is amazing considering it was recorded in 1968.

Back in the day, “communication breakdown” used to be my favorite as its such a hard fast rocker. Also, “i cant quit you babe” for its blues, pages solos and the double beat kick drum. These days i also like “you shook me” so over the top and for the feedback

Led Zeppelin I might be my favorite LZ album to listen to from start to finish. I love how consistently bluesy it is. The way the tracks progress, with the explosive ending of How Many More Times is perfect. It’s crazy to think that Plant and Bonham were practically nobodies before this album, and by the end of their careers, were regarded as some of the greatest musicians of all time.

When I was a young teen and Led Zeppelin first came out everyone I knew raved about Led Zeppelin II,a great album for sure but I preferred their debut album Led Zeppelin, the only damper for me on this album was that they stole Dazed and Confused from Jake Holmes. Bob.

Oops, sorry for interrupting your phone call. Were you discussing good times, bad times? 😂
Haven’t heard of Led Zeppelin before, but this review reminds me of another band’s debut album too. This band had such hits, like ‘Dazed and confused’ and ‘Babe i’m gonna leave you’...Wonder if Led Zeppelin was inspired by this band 🤔
In all seriousness, it’s a pretty damn good album and debut, really sets the stage (no pun intended) for their later music too. I could see why someone would think this the best album too. My favorite song on this album (which would be difficult to pinpoint and probably may change at some point) is still ‘Babe i’m gonna leave you’, for the reasons you described which makes it unique and powerful to me. One of my top favorite bluesy tracks from Led Zeppelin in general too. But every other song is close behind as well, that’s how good it is.

    Dude, the opening skit.
    Fucking hilarious!!!!
    😂😂
    Love this.
    And ❤ Led Zeppelin.
They never made a BAD album.
The greatest thing about them is their diversity and versatility.
They touched so many areas of music: blues, rock, metal, folk, middleeastern and it all sounded great. They did not repeat themselves.
I don't think many bands can say or do that.
All 4 of those guys were a key ingredient. All top musicians on their instruments.
    Excellent songwriters

I always found Led Zeppelin a frustrating band, on most of their albums they had songs that I think are totally awesome, goosebump/shivers down your spine stuff, yet on the same album there are songs that I can't stand.
The ratio great songs/crappy songs is the best on LZ1, imo.

    • @mthomas1973
      @mthomas1973 2 года назад

      Most, including me will disagree.
Led Zep are one of the few bands that never wrote a BAD song.
Might not be your taste, but none of it is BAD.
Most headbangers are all about heavy stuff and can't grasp the light and shade of Zeppelin

Do the Rolling Stones, and Led Zeppelin and Queen." Then you come here and complain about Led Zeppelin... I think you are on the wrong channel.

I think the chemistry was powerful from the first time they played together and this album reflects that. It was a statement of intent. Much more like their live sound.
