Finally back on the ice! This was such a fun game and great way for me to try getting my feet back under me. Any time you can defend a net opposite a good friend, you're already winning in my opinion. Big thanks to the Wolfpack and their families for coming out to the skate! I hope you all had a great time.

Having played hockey back when i was a young man the first set of goalie equipment I had was the Cooper leather and and basically wool or horsehair i can't remember which. All I know is that as they got more wet the became quite heavy, I wore a mask similar to Tony Esposito's mask as he was my hero. As i got older I moved in to the newer type gear and once I put on the mask that is similar to what is worn today I was able to see much better and was able to cover more of the net from side to side. I still stuck with Cooper but I can't remember any of the model numbers they were. Just that they were the colors of the Blackhawks.
Lots of fun to watch the video and see the action over the genres between the both of you between the pipes! Great stuff!
Yay! Also: MOOOOOG! He and Lemelin were the guys responsible for getting me playing hockey & goalie, even if it was only street/floor & roller hockey. I finally got to meet them at two separate trade card shows not too long ago, which was a thrill!
Good to see you back in the net. Hope it knocked some of the rust off.
Thanks. Honestly I think it mostly reminded me how rusty I AM 😂 But it was a blast and it felt good to be back in the crease.
I feel Glenn’s frustration with every time he went down trying to slide. We have gotten so spoiled with the way current gear works.
😂 I’ve seen this frustration with several folks now. I totally understand it. Glenn never played until essentially this modern era and he’s only done “vintage” gear a few times now. There’s definitely a learning curve.
@@CooperGoalie Agree. I bought my Barrasso Cubberly from Glenn a few years back. I have the full Vanbiesbrouck Brown setup with the Armadilla and whenever I wear that gear the transition back takes time to acclimate.
With that 70's equipment, you should have been doing some t-glides and stacking the pads!
I agree. There were plenty of opportunities to get a pad stacks or skate saves in for sure. I'm just happy to have survived the while hour honestly.
@@CooperGoalie You did say you haven't played much in many months, so I understand not doing the detail stuff and just casually getting the feel back.
