Couple tips for anyone who may pick up the game because os this video Don’t worry about hoarding food right away as it will just weigh you down before you have a place to store it. If you need points for perks a few free perks to take are smoker as they are easily obtainable and the stress of not smoking builds very slowly. Slow healer is also decent as more often than not if you get really hurt you’re going to die. Taking obese or overweight will hurt some of your combat and movement but will allow you to stay hungry more often and just eat to prevent starvation as you have extra body mass to lose. Some positive traits I recommend are organized for increased container storage including your backpack and any cars or crates you access. Cat eyes also makes night time more bearable if you intend to move around at night. Lucky is also a decent perk as it influences some of the RNG to favour you more. Dexterous is good because it allows you to transfer items faster, wether that’s to a crate or pulling out your weapon to defend yourself. Some good professions to take are mechanic which starts you off with the basic knowledge to modify any type of car along with I think skill level 3 in mechanics. This is great because if you grind one level of electrical you can then hot wire cars making finding transport notably easier. Security guard is good primarily in single player as one of his bonuses is to be more alert when asleep which means if zombies start breaking in during your rest it will wake you up before they break in. He also starts with a extra 2 in sprinting and gets a bonus to levelling light footed which impacts how much noise you make during movement. Carpenter is good because it starts you with level 3 carpentry which shortens the grind to get to carpentry 6 which is when you can make rain barrels. You also get a short blunt levelling bonus. Firefighter gives you strength and sprinting bonus making you stronger in combat and helps you carry more. You also get a bonus to axes making them deal more damage. If you plan on a gun cemeteries play through I recommend the veteran as they start with 2 in aiming and reloading allowing you to be at least decent with firearms. You also get the desensitized trait which prevents your character from panicking which impacts your aim. Lumberjack is the go to profession when you want to just get a axe and wipe out a town. They are able to swing axes faster and can move through the woods faster allowing you to kite and kill zombies easier. Some general tips Do not go out of your way to pick fights unless you are confident and there isn’t to many zombies in the local area as fighting may attract more than what you were ready for. If you are bitten it’s game over, there is no way to cure the infection. Find a room and shut yourself in and drink bleach. Remember where you do this as you can go back and retrieve your possessions You can use sledgehammers to break down walls and windows. Use these to get into armoires and the backs of gun stores. They do not make a great melee weapon as they tire you out quiet quickly. You can drink from rivers currently even though they are tainted but you cannot fill your water bottle with the tainted water or it will get you sick. Only drink straight from the source or drink from various water containing things in houses. Such as toilets and sinks You can insta kill zombies if you sneak up behind them with any type of knife. Wait for your opposite hand to raise up and then click to stab them. Cars can stall if the engine gets damaged. Prevent this by regularly repairing your hood or avoid hitting obstacles including zombies. Hope this helps, enjoy the game
Extra tip: to be extra careful, you can hold right click in front of a door and shove it to bang on the door, and if there are any zombies in the room they’ll start banging back and you’ll know
Smoker trait is actually really bad. The permanently increasing Stress is definitely not worth 4 points. Just choose Underweight as it is not permanent if you just gain 5 Kilos and it's super easy to gain weight in this game.
@@aaa69200You should as well, starting severely underweight is going to be way easier for a new player then Agoraphobia/claustrophobia, all you have to do is shovel food in, which is incredibly simple to do, Agoraphobia is just going to get noobs killed by them being too panicked to ever takes fights, and claustrophobia will cause a definite rage quit or death when they’re trying to find a place to sleep on the first few nights.

At first I didn't understand why Teo and Paddy were laughing so hard. They could not even tell Flash properly at first, from laughing. Then they said they left the oven on and I instantly started laughing the hardest, for like a minute straight. I cried a bucket. You guys are awesome.
1:42:47 I don't know if you saw it yet, but there is a setting for that. Zombies that you are aiming at are highlighted. It helps a lot with guns and there is a separate option for ranged weapons only.
Very happy to see you guys trying out Project Zomboid. The game has so much depth and what it sacrifices in visuals, it more than makes up for in gameplay and features. One of my all time favorites and I'll be excited to see more. :)

I remember when I first started this game and how awful I was at it and confusing it was for me. I ended up refunding it like 2 times, maybe 3 times. I am now actually fully addicted to it and its so awesome to relieve those memories through watching your play through.

There IS one tho. And you can't choose the opposite of a trait, if you choose slow learner, you cant choose fast learner. If you choose brave, you cant choose cowardly. Etc etc
If you ever struggle starting on this game, I recommend turning off lights, ripping up sheets and spare clothing and covering windows so you have time to prep
I love the gameplay... Two next time try to secure weapons and transport choices first then food and stuff to survive from will be much easier. You know then you can raid the police then and the pharmacy which would mean you all set to make a escape.. well once you ready too

I was saying yikes because the zombification is a fun part of the game and I would have liked for them to get infected at least once. I have no problems with people playing with whatever settings they want in Zomboid, it's a hard game even with the default settings and it has a steep learning curve so for new players it's totally fine to shave off the more difficult parts of the game first while they learn
Okay... im already watching the fist few minutes and note that i never played project zomboid or watched any gameplay BUT IM NOT BLIND to see that Teo is already ignoring books for crafting/skills and he also ignored an axe in the zombie that he first killed with a frying pan......
Books are pretty good for exp multipliers but unless its beginner or you already have a couple levels in a certain skill from an ocupation, they're not all useful, why have a master book when you dont even have level 1. Know what i'm sayin'?

I know you have to learn the basics but they went full blind into this game, it will take days or weeks of playing this game for them to learn the most basic tips. The game is difficult, thats basically the whole point of it being hyper realistic
