Vaer Presents: The Way Home - A Surf Expedition to Northern Iceland

- Our 3rd film project, The Way Home is a short film that tells the story of renowned surf filmmaker Elli Thor, and his experience uncovering the hidden potentials, and boundless opportunity for adventure in his home country of Iceland.
This 6-minute film explores Eli’s journey with surfing, and how it has reshaped his understanding of life in the far north.
The story begins with an exposé of the everyday life of a surfer in Reykjavik, before quickly expanding into an adventure film. In the second part of the story we follow Eli as he heads into the remote wilderness of Northern Iceland, traveling by car, boat, sled, and skis in search of great waves, and a new perspective on the place he calls home.
Beautiful, hope this movie gets the attention it deserves. I love this quote, it resonates with me, "I may not be a great surfer, but I have dedicated a lot of my life to it, and I am sure it has made me a happier person".....Perfect!
Beautiful....the perfect words ...I only wish more people could escape to such beautiful places and experience the bliss that only surfing can bring...I thank God everyday surfing was brought into my life....I am such a better person because of it too.....

I was skeptical about watching this as it is labeled as a commercial. I was wrong. I never would have imagined such an incredible adventure. This is excellent work!

Bad commercial. The intention is to focus on the watch and yet it hardly showed it throught the presentation. It is more like about surfing or camping instead of the watch being showcased.
Vaer is transporting a feeling with this commercial and shows freedom of movement with no need to worry about your watch as it will be a reliable tool.
I think it did a great job of showing its target audience the sorts of adventures people can use it for. Instead of using generic tactics like talking constantly about its features and why it’s better than competing products, it provides a narrative for people to connect to and images of the product which I quite liked.
Nailed it. That is exactly what was being conveyed here. If it’s functional, reliable, and good-looking, then it’s a watch an adventurer wants.
