For laying porcelain and natural stone tiles/slabs with adhesive on the external walls of the buildings it is
recommended or sometimes mandatory by the law the use of an extra mechanical system. For instance the Italian
law requires a mechanical system like RAI-FIX (patented) for tiles of format larger than 40x40 cm (16'X16').
So the combination of the adhesive and a mechanical safety system, like the RAI-FIX hooks screwed on the wall that hold each individual tile/slab, it is very important.
It's also important the full compliance with the way of application of the adhesives which assures the perfect slab adhesion to the wall, but this does not happen all the times.
In addition, it is not possible to forecast slab strains and assessment which may happen due to natural events such
as; extreme weather conditions with high or low temperatures, earthquake etc..
This system is suitable for tiles/slabs of minimum thickness of 9 mm.

For those bitching and moaning. Here in the US I recently came across a question somebody was asking about how to keep the stone veneer attached to the wall 2 stories high. Well here it is. This is the solution. You can rely solely on the thinset to hold the tile or stone attached to the wall and this mechanical fastener really helps the bond. Just think about a store front with a nice stone tile entrance that goes up 2 stories high, would you want it to fall and seriously injured or killed someone just because the installer thought it wasn't necessary or it was gay to use this? Think about for a sec.

This is perfect for the KB home disaster in San Fran. This builder decided to put wood plank tile on the outside of the houses and they are falling off. It is very dangerous I think this would solve the problem. Seems to be very time consuming but very safe. I guess you cant put a price on that.

Thinset mortar installed correctly should be enough to hold the tiles. 🤦

All commercial exterior building need a mechanical bond of some type..
non basta mettere i cunei solo in quelle posizione per non avere denti o scalini nel pavimento
so if the adhesive isnt good enough to hold the tile.... why would you ever think it will hold the plate and tile..... realy
You don't need no anchor to for tile or stone on a vertical.
