Just when I thought iDrive8 couldn't get any worse: Now they replace regular buttons with capacitive buttons everywhere.
You're going to LOVE the future, NO dash, info. bar & entire windshield is HUD for autonomus drive.
The constant references to the M60 do not help at all.

Hi how is the vegan leather is it very soft i currently have the nappa leather would you say the vegan leather is as good?
Nothing is as good as leather. Veganza is fine but would still pick leather if it was my car

@@bmwblog That’s terrible. Those Laser Lights on the i4 are incredible.
IDrive 8 will slow sales. We sold our X1 after 11 months, just couldn’t live with it. Calibration of aircon for a warm climate was horrible too. More development work needed.
Curios what was wrong with the calibration, or what you meant by calibration
In Australia, the outside temperature is higher than average. The very low and low settings are not well calibrated, meaning the very low is too low and the low is too breezy. The previous version had more fine tuning and options to set fan speed. Similarly, playing with the screen settings every time you get into the car is completely unnecessary and a step backwards in terms of UEX. It needs an urgent software upgrade for tropical climates. My wife's new iX3 (the X1 replacement is infinitely better). @@bmwblog

I think a hybrid makes more sense with the 5 series. Range isn’t class leading with the i5, and that’s going to hurt it. Style wise, tho, I love it. Tesla and MB will be more favorable here. However, this is a good start to electrifying their mainstream cars.
Since they've been selling PHEV 5er for years i5 is an innovation. And since consumer choice is detemined by consumer NEED, how does 1 "make more sense" than the other? Why do you think BMW offer choice?

Exterior is a disgrace. Ugly front and ugly back and ugly side - that is an achievement. Side looks as if the car is a Lego and built from bricks.
Never electric cars. They do not have any advantages of over gasoline/diesel I prefer the diesel version of BMW 5 series over the electric version.

Could have been hideously ugly like the EQ Mercedes. Its still better than the terrible boring old Mercedes design which played it too safe..and its exactly the same as previous model...yet still worse. W213 was better in 2017, the facelift made it worse..the new model is like another facelift..which made it worse yet again.

We used to have a super individual design. But here is absolutely ridiculous compilation from Skoda, lens are from Mercedes CLA or Mitsubishi Lancer, rear lights are VW golf and so on. And it costs 100k. They just compile parts from oem distributors. Even manage to spoil angel eyes and triangle. Before you never mixed Bmw with something. Now you can’t guess without model id what the hell is it.

They have ruined there best looking car ever! Why couldn’t BMW just increase the wheel base for less front and rear overhangs and increase the rear cabin space while maintaining its overall size, refresh its design and appeal? In addition, if an electric car doesn’t use an ICE engine why is there such a long hood line?!..
Because they share the same platform, long hood short deck has signified performance since @ least original 328, Jaguar (also I6) & Detroit pony & muscle cars.
