I love that your covering this tool. Been using it daily for a little over a year now. The big advantage over online upscalers is time. I don't have to be online or wait for a queue of other images. I can do a big batch all at once. If you're only upscaling one image a week, maybe its not worth the price, but I'm a huge fan for how often I use it. I wish they would add in a vectorizing tool because that would make it a superstar for me.

Oh man I'm with you, also a vectorizing tool would be amazing!
I remember having to upscale images for a good 15 years before this software came out by doing some smoothing and generally crappy methods and when I got topaz it made the process so much better. It's insane how good it is. Not perfect but incredible considering!

Great video as always. I have a stupid question, what's the difference between Gigapixal and photo AI other than the price? Cheers. and a BIG thumbs up.

Thank you! Photo ai has more features for enhancement than Gigapixel. Also masking for certain areas, so better for editing photos and images in more detail. I will be comparing the two eventually and doing a deep dive I to photo ai also :)

I love this tool. The only downside is the massive size of the files after saving.

Yeah, however a free tool to optimize jpgs shouldn't be too difficult to find. I should see what I can find ...

To me it looks as if the iris of the eyes takes a non elliptical or circular shape, as if it is stiched together from circle sections with different radii.

Yeah it's not always perfect, but it is still an impressive tool for adding detail, but I do think some minor adjustments afterward make it a very useful tool for editing / improving AI art

Would be good to compare different methods of upscaling on each photo to learn which method works best. It's not as intuitive as you may think.

I'm not sure what you mean.. although I did compare different upscaling models I did show each comparison, just the ones which worked best.
I've generally found that recovery mode is amazing, high fidelity and standard work best on most other images, with cartoons, and other graphics falling into the other categories

I don't know how the Recovery option ever can be fast enough to be usefull with large images. A normal raw file with 2x upscale takes many hours! to process on a fast computer. It looks like a cheap business argument that works on 1000x1000 pixels but isn't scalable.

I hear you, it seems to be about 10 minutes an Image for me (being a basic 1024x1024 initial midjourney render). But I'm guessing it's likely to crash .ore computers at.higher resolutions
