- Today I use a tank I found to go through Louisville and clear out all the zombies I can find and cause as much destruction as possible.
here is the tank mod

"nothing can survive this tank"
yep even it's own transmission
I was gonna say of all the ww2 tanks to take into a zombie apocalypse, why the tiger 2?
@@SizzleCorndog Cause we had to test German engineering.

Transmission - snapped
Final Drive - shattered

Aw yeah, its Konigstiger time
Lmaoooo
And this is why the zombie apocalypse is unlikely to happen, one tank could clear a whole city
And that's just a old german tank from ww2, get a battalion of some more modern tanks like the Abrams and the zombie apocalypse will go from 100 to 0 real bloody quick.
I'm pretty damn sure one 50 cal machine gunner can mow down an entire horde if he just has enough time and distance.
the knox infection is airborne, good luck mobilizing your infantry and mechanized cavalry when half your staff got infected overnight and chewed on half your other staff. its very hard to maintain cohesion when people are panicking, sick and watching their loved ones die
Not really, yes a tank can clear a city in this game but in real life zombies would swarm the tank and once enough gather the tank could get stuck and become a death trap, it would need infantry support to not get overrun

Funny thing is that this may very well be lore-friendly. One of the surviving King Tigers was found home at Fort Knox before being relocated to Fort Benning, this particular one had it's left side cut open to show its interior, but maybe some survivors found it and decided it's a good idea to jury-rig the beast back in working order...
Fort Benning? I may have to take a road trip through Georgia to get it (morgan county to Columbus area
Good luck shooting cannon from that old tank while being inside. And getting shells from ww2 old 80yo german tank
Kinda funny that cutting this King Tiger and the normal Tiger there on the sides open saved the vehicles from being scrapped as they could be used that way for educational purposes.
Yeah
there are still several tanks there, the patton museum features plenty of tanks on display, in addition to whatever the base has on hand
Always makes you wonder how the military can lose against zombies
>make the virus airborne
Plot armor.
@@russkatherealoriginal6904 Gasmasks be like
@@shizik3909 good luck with that. You would have to
A.) find out it's spread by air at a INSANE rate, without being affected yet.
(In-game the quarantine breaks in one/ two weeks)
B) you have supply enough of your force with it in a even shorter time frame or else your just wasting time.
C) 99% of people didn't get a gas mask are now munching on you and your buds after turning in the middle of the night.
D.) Somehow manage to do this within 8 days as that is just about when it went global.
It's not about killing the zombies. That's the easy part. The hard part is about preventing the spread of a disease. Tanks aren't vaccines, so they can't help you fend off the infection. Also, tanks have limited fuel and ammo, so you can only fight in them for so long. If the pandemic is on a global scale, you won't be able to kill them all.
U.S citizens begin zombie rights advocacy, ideology spreads to the military, military has to treat zombies as people.
now this is how you de-stress after a good run gets ruined. just clear out louisville with a tank to show those zombies that YOU are the ones with console controls no matter how much the game tells you that the zombies are the "end of the world"

@Lilbuddie for a brief (*VERY BRIEF*) period, the Finnish adopted that flag due to it being a communist state of the Soviet union in the 1930's.
@@ir4zs actually this flag is fake, and that communist state that you are speaking of was a small village goverment during the winter war.
Imagine being a survivor sneaking through the mall looking for supplies, when all of a sudden you hear several large explosions and machinegun fire. You rush towards the noise, believing it to be the military and possible rescue from this nightmare. Only to turn the corner to find a madman in a King Tiger tank, surrounded by a horde, obliterating everything around him while blasting panzerlied. You then proceed to flee in the other direction, realizing that humans are more dangerous than zombies in the apocalypse.
I’d try to tell the guy in the tank that I can help with the machine gun
Tank is fun doe
EN BRAUST UNSER PANZER, IM STURMWIND DEHIR
I got a backstory for it; out of the 8 surviving Tiger IIs left-over from WWII. One was transported from a museum over to Kentucky to be converted back into a functional combat vehicle to help survivors. However, as the infection went on, the survivors got overwhelmed and were forced to abandon the vehicle somewhere. Until you found it - it leaps back into the fray to continue where they left off. That's the coolest thing about preserving history like this; it could have a new-found use later on.
Epic stuff. I saw this mod awhile ago and I debated on getting it but I might now.
One old German citizen had several German WWII weapons in his garage like a Flak 88 and a torpedo as I can remember
Everything was kinda fine till it came out in the news that he also had a Panther in his garage but the locals there didnt mind when an old man use a tank to clear the snow (yes he did clear the snow with it)
Then the Bundeswehr took it away, what a shame
This man is well known in Germany

that or the final drive for the tiger 2 broke and he found it
@@alexdaniel6731 Yeah true, very possible. While these machines had impressive guns the rest of the vehicle had massive problems like transmission issues. They'd break every so often and Panthers for their drive-wheels would break every 300-400 miles on average.
Would also explain the ammo
This really does show how ridiculous it is about a non-afflicted mechanized military going up against zombies. Zombies need massive plot armor to win.
Edit: Since a horde of virology experts have @ me, let's talk about the pieces of lore the game gives us. It's said before the events of the game, a dark cloud and a bad smell permeated Knox county. This points to some kind of accidental release, but regardless, it means there was advanced warning for some kind of airborne contaminate. The radio host in the game states that "they knew" meaning the government for sure knew the nature of what was happening giving even more time to prepare. And yes, militaries have trained for chemical and biological warfare for decades. So my point still stands that a trained military, especially one with advanced knowledge, would absolutely stomp unintelligent, rotting zombies.
In pz it was an airborne virus so it's likely a lot of military personnel in military camps and bases turned before anything could he done and overrun them from the inside rather than needing to breach a gate.
Max Brooks did the M1A2 Abrams injustice in World War Z.
Surely it isn't the military being insufficient that causes humans to lose against zombies, but the failing logistics network that supplies said military.
A horde won't defeat a tank, but good luck using that tank when there's no fuel
I remember a debate where someone knowledgeable about this subject explained how a certain caliber machine gun round will utterly destroy your nervous system on a body shot. This was an arguement on why it would work even against a "walking dead" zombie. (only braindamage/headshots)
He argued that the military would be highly effective against zombies.
Other people suggest that a zombie outbreak would be nipped in the bud quickly. I can see why. Its highly infectious through bites, but anyone infected does not only stand out, there are generally zero moral consequences for immediatly killing the infected.
Isn't in zomboid case infection is also airborne? We know of atleast 1 case of person that never directly contacted with infected being turned (one of the radio broadcasts) I dont think that machine gun can really help you if virus already settling inside you (and dont forget about logistics, with panicked people, army and others moving all around its hard to get supplies in time)
holy shit im suprised that the over 78 year old tiger II works and doesn't break down every 4 hours also it's pretty accurate because there used to be a king tiger in fort knox before they transported it somewhere else can't remeber where tho
evvery 4 hours? how about every 2 miles?

Im more curious about how did a king tigre make it to kentucky, im pretty sure there are only like 6 left
What if you needed like atleast 4 people to oporate it at full capacity, driver, gunner, loader, and machine gunner
As a Kentuckian i can say that it was just there
There is actually a Tiger II in Fort Knox. It's at the General George Patton Museum Of Leadership. So actually, Kentucky is one of the more logical places to find one.
One of the 6 is actually sitting inside Fort Knox.
This makes me think of the moment in one of the John Ringo zombie novels where one of the characters gets an Abrams tank with canister shot, she literally finds that it clears the zombies so well at one spot that their decomposing brains manage to get enough recognition of threat that the zombies run away in fear. It is the Black Tide Rising series.
As someone currently living in Louisville I can confirm this is a perfectly average day in the city
Can you comment to the accuracy of the map? And of the surrounding towns.
@@dontworry4945really not accurate. they dont have streets that perpendicular, only in downtown, and those are wider.

Nothing like taking your Tiger II (H) for a zombie killing spree very relaxing

Imagine if there was a mechanic that the transmission will break if you drive the tank for too long.
Not liky if you handle it properly and only drive on roads. Towing other tanks through mud.... yeah...
fun fact: it actully takes an minimum of 2 people to use atank, a tank needs an driver, ammo loader, gunner and a commander to function at its 100%

There was this one scene from a movie where 4 British soldiers with automatic weapons were able to easily dispatch a horde of over 100 zombies, and I think that is a very compelling example as to why a zombie outbreak becoming uncontrollable is very unlikely
If happens in high population country like India then it would go out of control

This is why having the virus go airborne was necessary for zomboid to work. The military even with half their brains turned off could wipe out any horde of zombies with the right application of weapons.

The King Tiger 2 without breakdown sure satisfying
I live in Louisville and i can imagine a zombie apocalypse I see a tiger 2 roling around my home town lmao
I gotta think that in a real zombie outbreak anyone who can get armor is going to be the ones to survive. As long as the crew doesn't get infected you got a rolling slab of metal that after the bullets are gone and shells are spend you can just run over the hordes of undead. Get four or five of those in a good size town and you'd clear out most of them in no time flat
Until the fuel runs out, something breaks down, someone makes a mistake and runs the tank into a ditch or a bog or some similar scenario. The crew would also need to rest and have food and water. They’d need to be trained too. If anything breaks down then you’re fucked as you can’t go outside to repair it as you have no spare parts, tons of zombies and of course the difficulty of repairing a tank
Four or five in a good sized town. He did not mention a huge city. Given that you can drive about 200 miles, I would say that you can clear a lot of Z's, even more because they are attracted to rhe sound. No need to check every house, just keep driving gently, and stay on the roads. Also stick together in pairs and save some mg ammo to clear the other tank once they want to refuel
@@CountCalcium That's not entirely true. So in all of these zombie games there's always a overrun military checkpoint or convoy that has plenty of spare parts from abandon vehicles that could be used as sources of spare parts. True they will need to be trained, but it's not something that's extremely complex, but this scenario we're assuming they already know how to operate the vehicles since they wouldn't be using it unless they already knew. This also applies to knowledge of repairs (otherwise one can assume they could make something like the Killdozer, basically taking something more available for civilian use like a tractor or a dozer, armor it up and use that).
Point is that the stuff you're saying could happen are more tv/movie excuses why you never see people rolling around in these things. In reality I can see more groups that might have a few guys that were previously armor MOSs in the military that could train them in the use of a tank, apc or ifv.
The real question is how in the hell did someone get ammo for this tank
My head canon for this thing is that it was being transported to a private collector after being bought out from the museum housing it and they had it fully restored to working order, the billion dollar owner was having it transported to Texas along with the newly manufactured ammunition from the document's on the ammo type when a zombie outbreak happened and this vehicle got stuck in Kentucky along with it's ammo and even instructions on how to make the ammo as well as the driver's manual.
This mod mixed with the True music mod and it's many addons is truly something amazing.
You'll never have a better time than blasting zombies or running them over while listening to Toto's Africa down a neighborhood.
The project zomboid player character is so built different he can function as the entire crew of a tank all at once.
4:06 My man Spoodle doing his part to avoid religious controversy!
