  • This video focuses on Install a cam cleat to my hawk helium one stick build. I have been wanting to start using the one-stick climbing method for hunting. I was going to buy a pre-built, all-in-one stick, but didn't want to pay for something that I could build myself. I already had a set of Hawk Helium sticks and figured I could safely modify one of them for my one-stick. This series will take you step-by-step, showing you how I modified my new one-stick.

      No problem. I figured there are a lot of helium owners out there and couldn't find a video of a build. So I decided to make my own. Glad you found it.

    Where do you attach the amsteel cord that you will pull through the cleat?

    Any reason this couldnt be used on an old sandcast lone wolf hang on? I've seen the cam cleats used on sticks but not on stands. Not sure why. Seems like a no brainer.

    Did you get the harken 150 and if so what size bolt did you use including length if you don’t mind sharing. I have actually did everything you have done and followed your video for all the info.

    Does it do good on the tree with the cleat in that spot like it don’t kick out or anything or do you wish you put it higher or lower

      It worked really well the few times I got to try it this year. Didn't kick out at all.

    Did you use the button hole for the cam cleat or did you make two new holes instead of just one?

      I didn't use the button hole. I drilled new holes. Not sure of the hardware. Mine came with it already.

    • @TheHunterGatherer
      @TheHunterGatherer  Год назад

      Good question. If you watch the 3rd video in the series, you will see how i did it. The video covers the full burry amsteel rope. I made my brummel loop just the right size to fit over the hawk helium stick.
