I shot this with MoviePro because the workaround provided by the FilmicPro creators only works when the app is connected to the Internet. I always switch on Airplane mode in order to shut off any push notifications that would interrupt my filming.
And for background on technical issues with apps and my Shure mic, the iOS 16 update screwed up the integration of external mics to filmmaking apps and MoviePro was one of the very few unaffected by it. I bought it and have used it since. Online forums are saying a fix should be in when v16.1 is released which will render both Filmic Pro and BeastCam usable.
So the photographer I thought was Jim Saah (see my J Robbins video commentary) moved further down the stage during Girls Against Boys' set that I could finally try shooting ultra-wide. In my video for Ann Beretta, the quality looked very standard and not in 4K as I set it. Could it be because I went beyond optical to digital zoom and the quality went down? I'm still trying to figure this out but I think this might be the last time I use the iPhone's third lens.
I'm happy I captured this set though I wished the video quality was 4K; the positive takeaway is I have a recording of this set which will be saved in perpetuity for others to view on YT should they want to check it out.
Sound lived up to expectation and am generally happy with how this turned out. Again, still learning and fine-tuning...
