I'm not sure I would call the workflow great. Its limited scope means that once you get to know it it will feel familiar and easy and pretty fast to get to what you want, but I work in UI/UX and there are sooo many things about this that could be improved in so many ways... But my monkey brain really enjoys the glowy rubber buttons and turney knobs and such. So I think this is where it wins. By being enjoyable and likeable, not for fastest or best workflow. And at the end of the day I use it for fun and enjoyment, not to make most music pr hour. For music work I get paid for I use my DAW on the computer.
Man, these tips were dope AF, I subscribed after the “Knobs” tip lol. Great video, can’t wait to watch them all. Who needs a guide or manual when we got you. Thank you !!
Hey man , your channel is brilliant, but thats just not a content type to subscribe. I check your vids when I want to solve something or just binge watched right at the beginning of my "force adventure" - but in general I dont need regular updates - when I need them I just type a problem, and if there is solution on your channel - then it will pop up and I'll watch it :) Keep up good work - you are best force channel on YT !
Hey man, I've been subscribed. Your content is dope! The reason I subscribed is because your Akai Force videos are really helpful. I want to see more Force content! The Force community needs good creators like you to help learn the machine and keep it alive. Appreciate you bro! Keep up the good work!
Easier tip for the tempo window: Hold shift and hit tempo. This allows you to no longer hold the tempo button in order to see the tempo window. I live by this method in live gigs when manually switching tempos.
Man, this was my first times seeing one of your videos and I subscribed immediately. I’m pretty proficient on the MPC workflow cause I’ve had a Live since day one. Now I’m graduated up to the Live 2 and Keys. I’ve bought and sold a Force twice because little basic things seem buried. I just got one again and these tips are amazing. A lot of silly things I was having trouble finding are right out in the open. I love your simplistic breakdowns and positive attitude. Thanks sir! Can’t wait to dig into more of your stuff. Keep it up!
You make dope videos man. Shortcut for recording to arrangement: Shift + Rec You also can assign A and B for the fader via the Assign knobs above the fader
I know one thing about Force, everything was very challenging in the beginning and so much to learn until first hand it becomes a peace of cake. This may now be my primary study right besides Cubase and I certainly thank you so much of what you've have taught.
This was super useful. I’m not sure why people aren’t subscribing. Your videos are great and you seem like a really genuine and kind person. Thank you for sharing your time and energy with us.
I’ve recently gone from the MPC One to the Force and I’ve found all 10 of these tips very useful. You’ve earned and like and subscribe from me! Now I’m going to go make some music!
Keep it up Man. Yo I be stoked on some more MPC ONE videos. Maybe a whole project video or series for a real elaborate one showing sampling for drums and hooks, external gear and so on. Be cool to get a like a three four hour video or bunch in a playlist. I know that was a bit much. haha been smokin...
damn good teaching ! you really have a fluent clear way of explaining the basics, i don't even need to rewind your videos and watch it over and over again, like with most other tutorials. so thnx, and keep up the good work ! grtz from Belgium
For live performance push 2 set lists are such that songs are positioned diagonally between each song so lots of cursor navigation movement between songs. But I quite like the workflow of the akai trying to fit the song or set into 8x8 grid, but I suspect for live gigs it probably a good idea to have two akai forces in sync so you can queue up the next song in the set on the 2nd force. Akai has limited memory where as push2 and computer can load up the entire set and all vsts for all songs on one massive grid.
I’m new to your channel and you asked why people are not subscribing - honestly - I have no idea - but you’ve just got a new subscriber. Videos are concise, relaxed yet well paced, informative and well presented. Looking forward to all the other force content
Subbed man! Like your style and video's! I am planning to buy one! Its dope! I have heard that after the latest update it is way cooler! Its feels like I realy need this device in my life! :D
Akai force user / new to beat making . I'm just trying to soak up as much info as possible . I appreciate you taking the time to explain things in a detailed but basic way . So anyways I subscribed as u requested. Thanks for the schooling .
Elbow, you are the man. Super helpful and well articulated tutorials. Thank you for the knowledge snacks. I'm gonna go hit that "lunch button" right now!
Meant to ask, is there a way to record the crossfader sweeps into the arrangement? I tried enabling automation recording but it doesn't seem to record the x-fader. Any guidance is greatly appreciated.
I haven’t been able to do this but Someone just not to long ago told me that this feature was doable with one of the latest update 🤔 I will test this out and put something together soon. 🙏🏾👊🏾🙏🏾👊🏾
Really helpful content, thank you so much. Just learning the Force after 5 years MPC, lovin' it! From now on I'm pronouncing it "MetroDome!" Seriously, keeps these tips coming. I'm looking for a way to "bounce to sample" from a clip the way MPC lets you bounce a track to a sample. ???
I was looking for a comment with someone mentioning the metrodome lol.... Its one of those things that just kept grabbing my ear lol.. I didn't want to be the one and seem petty..... Fact of the matter is your videos and explanations are top notch. I never even had my hands on one .. Keep up the good work.
After months of research on the Force vs quite a few others products I just pulled the trigger and I am super siked because I really know this is going to take my set up to the next level. Many thanks for your tutorials/videos they certainly help my decision.
Also, @tip#7, hold shift+edit and then pressing the next Launch button that's blank, will insert a Scene of just the playing Clips. Another way to get song structure ideas. The best thing about this machine is the ability to have an Ableton workflow without a computer.
Thanks for vids. Just bought one. Do you have tutorials on managing importing and managing ssd disk contents. Like importing your splice library. Ableton doesn’t have fixed length unless you buy a push2 and ableton max for live. So why wouldn’t u untick fixed length entirely and just press stop based on accurate musician timing?
I usually shift + clip to get to paramaters, but I like that edit + track. Ima use that. Also, shift + record goes straight to record-to-arrange, for those that don't know. Big ups for this one, I know a lot of folks will benefit from this.
i subribed a couple of weeks ago because i decided that im gonna get the force and i want to keep up with yall tips and i can easily find ya vids when i look for them later.
Great Videos ‼️ Quick Questions, 🔴1. can the Force receive Program Changes that would change the session or song project ❓ 🔴2. Can most controls and on board push buttons on screen and physical buttons be controlled from outside controllers via CCs, SYSEX....ect❓
Excellent quickfire tips. Been using the Force for about a month and picked up some good workflow in this tutorial. Surprised to learn at the end that it's challenging to record the Master perform FX, but not such a biggie if your using a mixing desk and can record from there I guess. And I now subscribe!
Just subscribed as I have the MPC X and have thinking about the Akai force as another solid piece of gear for the studio. Options seem like they would be great in combination for certain project ideas.
Hi there love your details...one thing I cannot find, it is an easy way to acces cutoff I can only get in Marco but then I can not go back as fast as I want. Is there any shortcut for it?
Hey can you do a show on the midi learn section like in the arranger up in the top you have the green read and the red write and the white off I can't get mine to stay in the off it's always coming on and throwing my volume knobs way up and back down. I don't know how to get it to not come on every time you hit record and start my volume levels shooting to max. It's supposed to be recording what I do when I'm recording. But it's just a nuisance. Why would I want the computer to take my volumes to the maximum level and then back down to zero and then back up to the maximum all the time back and forth it's insane I don't know why a Akia doesn't correct this if it's a glitch. Don't have it come on auto ever when you put it on white it stays on white it doesn't come off and start controlling stuff on its own. But I realized I could not be using it right or have a setting wrong somewhere in this beast of a machine.
Great content. You do have the ability to record automation on submixes, returns, and master outputs since 3.1 last year. You can do so just like you would with any other normal tracks.
@@MarcusElbow yes, I think you can only record automation of master tracks in the arranger mode. Hit the Master in Matrix mode and arm the Outputs 1/2 track. When the automation is enabled (you can do so by tapping the automation icon in arranger or use the pull down menu), you can twist the macro knobs that have parameter assignment of the output 1/2) to record the movement. you can view and edit the automation by bringing up the edit window in the arranger mode.
Funny how the Akai workflow is so great and yet there seems to be a lot of room for improvement.
Exactly this.

Force Tip #5 - or use shift + button under 2 track (length)
9:16 what’s a “Metrodome”?? 😅
I thought it was a slip up until he KEPT SAYING IT 😂😂😂
Nice tips. Love my Force. My biggest ask is for a flip screen lol

Wow, just zero messin around, great tips. Now *that’s* refreshing.
Defo subscribing. Thanks
You know that question was coming up about recording the effects.
Hi! You didn't promise too much: Definitely Must Knows! 💯 Even two years later. 😀 Thank you! 🙏🏼

"METRO-DOME" huh??? lmmfao I'm so weak.......🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
Yeah I knew someone was gone say “what the hell”….but yeah the metronome had me scratching my head for a few seconds! 😅😏👊🏾
@@MarcusElbow the tricky thing is that you can set the metronome separately for playing and recording.. lost some hair figuring it out ;D
It's two am here. Ireland 🇮🇪🇺🇸💜
Oh my God thanks for the Metronome disable. I looked everywhere and couldnt find it.
I got you bro, I been subscribed. Anybody rockin with the Force deserves a sub. If you know you know
Yeah, it's hard the entrance to the metro dome indeed.
