      Second gear hits 85 mph in this vehicle. Now, do you think that's short, or long gearing? Take a wild guess. On a back road, you never get the chance to shift to 1st or 3rd because there is no need. Other than that, this vehicle is perfection.

    Only a fellow Porsche 718 Spyder will really understand how good this car is “out of the box”! It’s my daily drive and every journey is an adventure for me. I actually love the tall gearing in the manual. Good review on the car even though though it’s no longer available from the dealers.

    Enjoyed your video and your take on why you enjoy the Spyder.
    I own 21 Spyder with the PDK. I have owned a few different 911’s one being a 2015 GTS.
    For the me the Spyder is different enough in looks along with limited numbers on the road. I don’t see very many Spyder’s on the road vs 911’s. I enjoy people asking about the car just based on you don’t see a lot of them.
    90% of my time in the car is with the top down and listening to the flat 6.

    We've missed you man! I loved all your in-depth exhaust videos and was a bit disappointed you finally got the exhaust you wanted and then removed it lol. I just got my JCR exhaust installed with OAPs...the sound is finally complete! Yes it is loud, yes there is a bit of drone at certain RPMs, but I love it all! I also did lightened flywheel and tune which makes the car feel much faster...with the sound and speed, can't justify the premium of a GT3. Don't even know I would like it more...love the GT4/Spyder size for UK roads.

    • @BritishBeefy
      @BritishBeefy 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@davidkane712 F430 and 488 fairly different. The Ferrari defiantly had the drama and theatre but I would often not use it and take the GT4 as it more usable, not just in terms of practicality, but in terms of size of the car on the road, leaving it places etc. ... so I thought I'd get a Spyder. No doubt the 488 will be much quicker and more dramatic ... but how much will you use it too ?
      Also keeping the F430 in tip top condition I think was about 3x the price of keeping the GT4 in tip top condition. There was always something that need doing over and above the annual service often ball joints etc. Not sure if 488 suffer similar issues. I used AV Engineering who were fantastic

      Haha! Very similar history/setup. :)
      I’ve always loved the 981 GT4, imo that’s the GT4 to have. For the Spyders i think the 718 is better with the GT chassis. And with both of them in the garage and the PDK in the Spyder you have the perfect setup! ❤️

    Love the look of the Spyder, hate its impracticality. For a Sunday car it’s near perfect, especially with its track focused GT3 front suspension. However, stopping to put the roof up & down (I live in england with regular summer showers), its much noisier than the regular roof on long journeys, difficulty accessing the rear boot, the hard ride in everyday use gets tiring, as does getting in and out of Porsche bucket seats. And so I bought a GTS 4.0 Boxster. The Spyder is for a perfect day but for the other 90% of the time it becomes harder to live with and once the honeymoon is over you find you use it less and less…however you are likely to stand and gaze on its beauty more than a GTS. I do wish they had put more effort into making the GTS look more aggressive. With cars it’s about the compromises you can and can’t live with. Congrats on yours as it appears you can happily live with the Spyder’s. My GTS is in GT silver, with silver Carrera wheels with a chocolate brown leather interior in homage to the great Carrera GT…which is another set of compromises!

    I commented on one of your previous videos, asking about your opinion on OAPs for the Spyder/GT4. I understand that switching cars probably delayed those videos, Nevertheless, if it's of any interest, I am getting Cargraphic's monitored OAP set installed within the coming month, so I can send you a clip of the hopefully improved exhaust tone, as I've noticed that there are almost no videos made on that specific set. As a result, if you are considering making an OAP themed video, I thought that it might be of benefit to many potential enthusiasts that might be on the fence about getting a similar set, due to the lack of info online. While researching, I found that everyone recommended Soul, but living in the EU kind of negates that option unless a tune is involved.
