For the me the Spyder is different enough in looks along with limited numbers on the road. I don’t see very many Spyder’s on the road vs 911’s. I enjoy people asking about the car just based on you don’t see a lot of them. 90% of my time in the car is with the top down and listening to the flat 6. Great video! I agree with you completely. I have come close to selling my 718 Spyder for other Porsche models, particularly the Touring, but every time I drive the Spyder, I appreciate just how good it really is! It is way more chuckable and better for hooning around than the Touring. Enjoy!

We've missed you man! I loved all your in-depth exhaust videos and was a bit disappointed you finally got the exhaust you wanted and then removed it lol. I just got my JCR exhaust installed with OAPs...the sound is finally complete! Yes it is loud, yes there is a bit of drone at certain RPMs, but I love it all! I also did lightened flywheel and tune which makes the car feel much faster...with the sound and speed, can't justify the premium of a GT3. You virtually never see a video with someone driving a PDK with the shift lever in manual and shifting on the paddles. Holding a flat 6 in the gears is the best way to drive. The gearing is better being shorter as well.

Great video! Totally agree on most things you say! I just came back to Sweden after a roadtrip in Europe in my Spyder! Almost 5000 km in 14 days. 😂 Love the car and the comfort in the 18 ways is excellent. Had ideas to replace the exhaust and/or the controller, but now having lived with it on Autobahn I’ll just leave it stock for some form of comfort. Agree with you on the Burmester. I specced it on mine but think the Bose would do just as great. Only thing missing is the front lift. Numerous times these weeks the underside has been scraped. Nothing that shows unless you’re lying on the ground, but still. You really look like a fool when you hear the scraping sound, and people Looking at you and just think you’re a worthless driver in a fancy car.

Love the look of the Spyder, hate its impracticality. For a Sunday car it’s near perfect, especially with its track focused GT3 front suspension. However, stopping to put the roof up & down (I live in england with regular summer showers), its much noisier than the regular roof on long journeys, difficulty accessing the rear boot, the hard ride in everyday use gets tiring, as does getting in and out of Porsche bucket seats. And so I bought a GTS 4.0 Boxster. The Spyder is for a perfect day but for the other 90% of the time it becomes harder to live with and once the honeymoon is over you find you use it less and less…however you are likely to stand and gaze on its beauty more than a GTS. I do wish they had put more effort into making the GTS look more aggressive. With cars it’s about the compromises you can and can’t live with. Congrats on yours as it appears you can happily live with the Spyder’s. My GTS is in GT silver, with silver Carrera wheels with a chocolate brown leather interior in homage to the great Carrera GT…which is another set of compromises!
