The Namer APC is based on the Merkava tank chassis so it is basically a vehicle with main battle tank level protection without a turret.

​@MilitaryMindsKnowledgeArsenal from what I've read, the lack of turret allowed them to add even MORE armor, so it is far more well armored than any Main Battle Tank... which is crazy to think about, but makes sense, you should want even more protection for 12 troops then 4 troops, it can save more lives per pound, smart strategy for a military to take, especially one for a relatively small nation.

By 2027 there will be 530 in active and reserve units. To compliment the Namer a wheeled armored vehicle 8x8 called the Eitan is being introduced. Currently around 250 Namer’s are in service.

If I was an infantry soldier and had a choice of vehicle I would choose Namer, it has by far the best protection.

Your information is very outdated, there r already more than 230 in active service all over the main infantry brigades, engineering brigade , and reserve brigades.. also there is already Namer mark 2 with upgraded com systems and 1500 hp diesel engine
